John Kerry’s Band of Brothers?
I was going to list this link from Kerry-o4.org under “Humor,” but realized it’s serious. This flash animation shows the famous John Kerry photo standing next to all the veterans he served with. If you place your mouse over the photo, the list of veterans that purportedly support him appear. The site also has tons of information about the swift boat veterans and other revealing John Kerry info. See the photo with flash animation here.
Rudy Giuliani Speech
Possibly the best speech I’ve seen at a convention. –Bill Kristol
I had made the mistake of thinking that because of the moderate speaker line-up at the Republican convention this year, it would probably be a snoozer with perhaps a few great soundbyte moments. I happened to hear about the last half of of Rudy Giulini’s Republican convention speech. I’ve never been much of a Rudy fan, but was quite surprised at his eloquence. The speech was loaded with humor and heartfelt sadness from the day of September 11 and revealed some of the most tightly condensed analysis of John Kerry flip floppery I have ever heard. Giuliani demonstrated that George Bush’s post 9/11 policy decisions were the long term and deliberate policies characteristic of a strong war time leader. I’d highly recommend listening to this speech!
John Kerry’s 1971 Testimony Before Congress
I just heard John Kerry’s 1971 testimony about the Vietnam war shown on C-SPAN. His sentiments were unabashedly anti-war. He appeared disturbed at the behavior of U.S. servicemen which he alleged committed crimes, the type of cruel guerilla war activities that anyone who’s seen the movie, Apocolypse Now understands.
A couple of moments perked my attention. One instance was when John Kerry implied that President Nixon wanted U.S. servicemen to die so that Nixon wouldn’t be “‘the first president to lose a war.’” Nixon will probably never be thought of as angelic, but probably doesn’t deserve such condemnation based on one man’s interpretation of motives. Nixon got the U.S. out of the Vietnam war through the process of “Vietnamization,” which Kerry seemed to be against.
John Kerry made another point that seemed disparaging if not discriminatory toward Asians which he began by saying that “We found most people didn’t even know the difference between communism and democracy.” The thought that anyone of any race would not know or care about the difference in the slavery of communism and benefits of freedom sounds strange.
Another interesting moment was to hear John Kerry state that “we cannot fight communism all over the world.” It makes me wonder if he might make the same conclusion about the world-wide war on terrorism.
WATCH C-SPAN TONIGHT!
Tonight, C-SPAN will play the unedited version of John Kerry’s testimony before congress in 1971. This is the infamous hearing where Kerry accused is borthers in arms of war crimes and murder.
Rare is the opportunity to see and hear the unfiltered and un-spun words of a politician. Watch this program tonight and judge for yourself the words and convictions of John Kerry then so you can compare them to John Kerry now.
SHOULD BE GREAT T.V.
POST WITH HONEST…PART 2
Let’s dissect the liberal mind further. Censor, a LAL poster and passionate Bush hater makes a good argument on paper. If he only used facts to back it up.
Censor,
The 9/11 Commission report said there was “no credible evidence” of a collaborative relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda in relation to 9/11. However, the report says there is ample evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda collaborated in terrorist activities, including training terrorist how to hijack airplanes at the Salmon Pak facility in Iraq. Didn’t see that in the New Republic. Similarly, ample evidence of WMD programs and the ability to ramp them up quickly has been documented and neutralized since the invasion.
How many times do you and others have to be shown quotes and documents from Kerry, Clinton, Albright, the UN, France, Germany, Russia showing that all of them….all of them believed that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and that regime change was the only solution. It was their song that changed when Bush did what they didn’t have the political will to do.
Here’s the rationale for war in Iraq. Number one. It has stopped cold the efforts of a crazed madman who has demonstrated the means and the will to use WMD and support terror against America. If Saddam had actually built a nuclear weapon, it would have been to late. LET ME REPEAT THAT FOR THE THICK OF SKULL. When the bullet is flying out of the barrel of the gun, it’s to late to put on the body armor. Number two. The war in Iraq has sent a clear message that the western world is awake now and the game is on. There will be a price to pay for being a terrorist, supporting terror and give safe harbor to those who do. It took a man with conviction and principle to make the difficult decision of shedding American blood to send that message. And finally, there will be no better cure for the powder keg that is the Middle East than to have a strong thriving Democracy in Iraq. Why do you think there is so much opposition in the Middle East and around the world to a democratized Iraq? It’s going to upset the whole apple cart and countries like France and Germany are going to lose their “cash cow relationships with dictators like Hussein.
Was it not prudent to focus on Iraq, our sworn enemy, in the hours after the 9/11 attacks? After all, we knew of specific links between Iraq and the planners of the first World Trade Center attack. It would seem to that common sense and caution would make you look at all possible suspects. Once it was determined there was no specific and actionable intelligence indicating an Iraq connection, the focus turned to Afghanistan. Would John Kerry have done it any differently? We don’t know. What we do know is that the key to fighting terrorism is defeating state sponsorship and complicity. There is ample evidence that Iraq was engaged in this kind of activity, as is Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and others. Defeating Hussein and establishing a democratic Iraq was the most prudent step to take. There will and should be more.
Censor says that the Bush administration struck fear into the hearts of Iraq about Hussein’s WMD’s. Yes, this is true, but it was the first Bush administration that first did it. Then the Clinton administration established regime change in Iraq as official U.S. policy, a policy supported by John Kerry.
The United Nations had voted on resolution after resolution, asking Hussein to allow inspectors into Iraq. He refused. There was and is unquestionable evidence that WMD programs were being ramped up moving forward, but the world needed more information to know for sure. Hussein refused to provide it. To this point, there have been no major stockpiles of WMD’s discovered in Iraq. So what? Should we have waited for the stockpiles to be built up? Should we have waited for a nuclear, chemical or biological weapon strike before we acted? What is Kerry’s position on what we should have done? WE DON’T KNOW.
Censor, your extensive and detailed arguments against the Iraq war are based on liberal propaganda, media spin and pure conjecture.
The aluminum tubes your refer to could have been used for a number of purposes that violated UN resolutions, including uranium enrichment but also for creating long range missiles. Your statement that “experts agree” that the administration’s claims about how those tubes could be used were wholly without merit is just absolutely false.
The statement about Hussein seeking uranium from Africa was and is an established fact. The British government still stands by its intelligence claim to this day. The main questioning of this statement came from Robert Wilson, a democratic political operative whose statements, have since been discredited.
Do you actually understand the nature of intelligence gathering? Like most liberals in this political season, your hindsight is brilliant, but when you are dealing with intelligence in real time, there are always uncertainties. ALWAYS. That will not change if John Kerry gets elected. You demand proof and unquestionable evidence before acting. This is not Star Trek. We cannot scan the surface for life forms and active weapons system then set our phasers to stun. In the real world you have to have the balls to make the call, even when you may not have all the facts.
The second-guessing by Kerry and by liberals like you is a cowardly condemnation made from the sidelines and in hindsight. WHAT ABOUT TOMORROW?…..WE DON’T KNOW! We know that we have sworn enemies who will do all in their power to wipe us off the face of the earth. We know that the only way to change that is to kill them or convince them we can live together on planet earth. That convincing will start when the Muslim world sees Iraq emerge as a beacon of freedom and democracy. I don’t trust John Kerry to get that done. I do trust George Bush. There can be no question that Bush has made mistakes. That is the nature of war and world diplomacy. The unexpected happens. But at least Bush is not afraid to act or only acts in half measures. The Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive action and the steps we have taken in Iraq and Afghanistan has turned the world on its ear. Contrary to your assessment of Bush as an ignorant warmonger, I see him, and I think history will see him, as a brave and bold leader who made the tough decisions that had to be made to create a new order of peace and harmony among the nations of the earth.
POST WITH HONESTY…ENTER THE FRAY
By Buck Evinger
This is in response to Censor, an obviously thoughtful and well-informed person. Censor you seem are typical of most liberals in that you ignore facts when they don’t support your argument. To call yourself right of center doesn’t seem appropriate.
You say that SOME doubt has been cast about Kerry’s medals and his service record. That is an understatement, and no, not all of Kerry’s shipmates and very few of those who served closely with him corroborate his story. In fact, the vast majority of those who knew and served with Kerry, over 200 men now organized as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, say Kerry is a liar.
In his many years as a senator Kerry NEVER, never sponsored any legislation. He is a follower. Not a leader and his voting record on bills that were put forth score him as the most liberal senator, period.
He voted in support of the war because it was politically expedient to do so. When Howard Dean proved you could gather support by opposing the war, John Kerry started opposing the war. And here’s a good question. If his opposition to the war, as you claim, was only over the lack of proper discretion in making the decision to go to war, why did he vote against funding it and supporting it? The decision was made…It was rally time. I’ll tell you why. He was in the primaries fighting a rising Howard Dean.
You are most certainly correct that there are many liberal ideals that are foreign, nay, incomprehensible to conservatives.
Kerry and anyone else for that matter can be persuaded by argument. The real point is, what does he believe in? What are the core principles that drive his decision making? If those can be argued away then the man is unfit for command.
Yes, I’m sure Kerry will raise taxes, but what does basic human rights have to do with taxes? And responsible spending? Was the $87 billion dollars to prosecute the war in Iraq, provide munitions and body armor for soldiers and help the starving people of Iraq, was that responsible spending? Kerry’s vote against funding the war in Iraq was done to position him favorably in front of the democratic base during the primary season. Have you noticed how tough he’s talking about the war in Iraq now?
And of course, how could you make an argument without calling Bush an idiot. It’s part of the liberal stylebook these days. Bush may be a plainspoken non-intellectual, but I know what he believes and when he says something, he does it. Do you know what John Kerry would do in Iraq? What’s his plan? Will we stay? Will troop levels be reduced? What will he do if things get worse? You’re not voting for Kerry, you’re voting against Bush. Just stay home.
MAX CLELAND IS A WHORE
By Buck Evinger
Max Cleland is a whore. Yes, those are harsh words, but how better to describe a man who uses the sympathy garnered from his horrible war injuries as a pure political tool. Opportunist? Not strong enough. As Cleland wheels his way to Crawford Texas to play pure politics on the front lawn of George Bush’s ranch I am reminded of when he called on Terry McCauliff, Michael Moore and Moveon.org to cease calling Bush a traitor and AWOL….OH WAIT…THAT’S RIGHT…HE DIDN’T DO THAT, DID HE
What hypocrisy! Cleland, a Vietnam veteran and former senator who used the same tactic to explain away his surprising defeat in the last election, plans to deliver a letter to President Bush for the Kerry-Edwards campaign, asking Bush to publicly condemn attack ads that dispute Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry’s combat record in Vietnam.
It doesn’t matter that George Bush has already done as much by condemning all 527′s organizations and the attack ads they produce. Never mind the fact that the Bush campaign has consistently spoke well of John Kerry’s Vietnam service and never accused him of anything but honorable service…AND FOR GOD’S SAKE, LET’S IGNORE THE FACT THAT OVER 200 MEN SHOW SERVED ALONG SIDE JOHN KERRY ARE CALLING HIM A LIAR.
For background you should be aware that while Cleland used his injuries for political gain and is always described as a war hero who shed his blood while fighting for America, his and Kerry’s campaign literature fail describe how Cleland received those injuries. For the record, he was injured while picking up a live grenade that had fallen out of a U.S. helicopter onto the landing pad. He would have been on the helicopter and avoided the injury be he had decided to stay at the supply depot and enjoy a few beers and some R&R with his buddies.
I wonder if Cleland, after he delivers the letter to Bush at the ranch, will stand with Bush in condemning all of these attack ads? Will Cleland, on behalf of the Kerry campaign, call on Moveon.org and the dozens of other 527 groups supporting Kerry, to stop their attack ads? Here’s an even better question. Will John Kerry release his service records and answer the charges being made by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth?
Fact #1: Kerry claimed that “spending Christmas 1969 in Cambodia fighting a war not being acknowledged by his own governmentâ€? was a seminal moment in his life. Seared in his memory. His words. Now, thanks to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, we know that Kerry was not even in Cambodia at the time. The Kerry campaign has said so.
Fact #2: We know that Kerry received three Purple Heart decorations for injuries he received “in battle. Thanks to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth we now know that at least one of those injuries was self-inflicted and not in a combat situation. The Kerry campaign has admitted as much.
If you’ve been wondering what the Clinton legacy was all about….You’re seeing it. Clinton was the master of character assassination against his opponents and then accusing them of doing what he just did. Cleland is carrying the torch and proving that the people of Georgia made a wise decision in voting him out of office.
Answer the charges Mr. Kerry! Quit attacking the accusers and silence them by answering the charges!
Alice Cooper Speaks Out Against John Kerry Rockers
I didn’t know that Alice Cooper was a conservative until finding this article the Canoe Entertainment Network quotes Alice Cooper:
“If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.”
Alice Cooper also reportedly said “when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn’t already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that’s a good reason right there to vote for Bush.”
I’ll stick with Cooper’s wisdom, but the article also mentions that Britney Spears is a Republican.
PLAYING POLOTICS WITH BOOBS
The Drudge Report is reporting that, in a soon to be published interview, Janet Jackson claims her breast exposure incident was used by the Bush administration to distract attention from the war on terror.
PUNCH LINES
#1 Well at least we finally found those pesky weapons of mass destructions.
#2 The biggest boob in the Bush arsenal is John Kerry.
#3 ” I’m gonna have you naked by the end of this term.”
#4 ” Hey look world….it’s a 40 year old woman’s breast.” That should do it. Invade.
#5 The Terror Threat Level has just moved to brown.
#6. This gives new meaning to the phrase, What can Brown do for you?
#7. Memo from POTUS. “Please make sure Justin Timberlake get’s his check.”
#8. Just think, if she would have shown us both boobs we could have invaded Canada.
#9. Memo from POTUS; ” Find Anna Nicole Smith’s phone number asap.”
#10. Janet, Tyson’s Chicken called. They’ve got an idea for a new marketing campaign.
LIBERALS HATE TRUTH
By Buck Evinger
Liberals never let facts get in the way of a good argument. That is just one of the undeniable truths of life that must be accepted by all conservatives. A recent posting on this web site from a chronic Bush hater called “bushisacrook” offers up W’s “resume” and accomplishments as president. Unfortunately this posting was full of lies and half truths, witch is the typical basis for a liberal arguments. It would take to much space to address them all individually,
GEORGE W. BUSH RESUME
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
1. I attacked and took over two countries. Yes, this is what Bush did. Without being provoked, George Bush took it upon himself to attack and take over two countries….and we would like to apologize to Canada and Mexico.
2. I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the Treasury.
I shattered the record for biggest annual deficit in history.
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 2-month period. I set the all-time record for the most foreclosures in a 12-month period. I set all-time record for biggest drop in the history of the stock market. Hey, did you hear? We’re bankrupt. I guess the Wall Street Journal missed that story, and for the record, the deficit, as a percentage of GDP, which is the only important measuring stick, is still lower than it’s been in decades. (It’s called Economics 101. Take it. Learn It. Live It.) It is an economic fact that George Bush inherited a U.S. economy that was stalling and beginning to tumble and had to deal with a world that was in a death spiral from Germany to Japan. Then 9/11 wreaked havoc on the the economic center of the universe….All in all, I’d say Bush has done a pretty good job protecting us from a Carter-like malaise.
3. In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history. After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history. Any third grader probably understands that a president, never has a vacation. Ever. All they do is move the headquarters for the running of the free world from one location to another. If you call having constant, 24 hour, security presence and daily briefings from everyone who works for you a vacation, then you’re right. ( What a bullshit complaint. I probably shouldn’t even have acknowledged it.)
4. In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their jobs.
I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history. See Economy 101. And for the record, in the last 8 months nearly 1.5 million new jobs have been created, thanks to Bush tax cuts and economic policy.
5. I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other president in US history. After Economics 101, check out Civics 102. Amending the constituion requires a super majority vote of both houses of congress, then ratification by the legislative branches of two thirds of the states. It’s a little harder than just a pen stroke.
6. I presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in US history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have. Are you starting to understand why school vouchers are so important. Apparently the person who posted this was not alive when Jimmy Carter was president. I remember gas rationing and the “odd/even” method of being told what day you could buy gas. If Bush would have emptied the national oil reserves the day he took office, it would be making it to the pump right about now….but then again, you’d have to understand a little bit about how the oil industry works to get it.
7. I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. It’s good to be the king.
8. I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history. Thank you. And would the jackasses who kept us in those outdated, irrelevant treaties please stand up.
9. I’ve made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history. How do you know? I mean, wouldn’t the most secret and unaccountable presidency, still be a secret….and unaccountable?
10. I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the Union simultaneously go bankrupt. Again, the Wall Street Journal must be sleeping on the job to miss this one.
11. I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market in any country in the history of the world. No, that would be Bill Clinton. On two counts. The Enron and World Com debacles were at fever pitch under Clinton….and do you recall under which administration Ken Lay and all his ilk were exposed and prosecuted?…..
12. I am the first president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the will of the United Nations and the world community. Okay take Economics first period, Civics second period and American History third period. We’ll leave the schedule open after lunch.
13. I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. The United Nations rendered itself irrelevant by failing to do what it said it would and then actively try to thwart enforcement of it’s own directives. By the way, you should also do some reading on the Oil For Food scandal that receives virtually no media attention in this country. The reason the U.N. fought against invading Iraq is because so many U.N. officials and world leaders were making so much money off Sadam being in power, to lose it would be unthinkable.
At this point I’m just tired. If there were at least some factual basis to the remaining claims made by this crazed Bush hater I might enjoy the debate, but when an argument is based on lies, ignorance and willful distortion…there is no debate. In fact, there is nothing worthy of debate, a point I prove with a final challenge.
Our visitor wrote; In a little over two years I have created the most divided country in decades, possibly the most divided that the US has been since the civil war. This is from the same write who called Bush a liar, a crook, a drunk, a deserter, a murderer and a moron. Who’s dividing the country?
DEMOCRACY-SHAMOCRACY
By Buck Evinger
You may not hear it much now, but today’s underlying motivation of the Democrat and liberal hatred of George Bush is their belief that Bush “stole” the election of 2000. Every now and then, you’ll hear a reference in a speech by some liberal activist about how George Bush was “appointed, not elected.” You’ll hear him referred to as an illegitimate president and there are quite a number of people who completely ignore the facts and accuse Bush of actually being involved in a conspiracy to create the Florida voting debacle. Kerry and Edwards, along with other prominent Democrats, tell the voters that the DNC is the party that wants to “count EVERY vote” to protect our democracy.
If only they really meant it. While they give lip service to “count every vote” It was the Democratic Party that sued to have military absentee ballots thrown out. It was the Democratic party that filed suit to have suspect ballots thrown out and launched the whole legal battle over the 2000 election, and this year it is the Democratic party that is once again trying to suppress the democratic process because it doesn’t quite fit their plan to regain power. How? Just ask Ralph Nadar.
Nadar’s effort to get his name on ballots in important swing states is being stymied by lawsuits and charges of fraud by……wait for it…..the Democratic party. The DNC has a massive, well-funded campaign to keep Nadar and his supporters from having a voice in this election. Democrats have filed lawsuits against Nadar in Oregon, Iowa, New Hampshire, West Virginia, Nevada, Texas and Illinois. DNC operatives are overtly and covertly attempting to sabotage his campaign.
Besides demonstrating the Democrat’s “win at any cost” mentality, this effort by the Kerry/Edwards campaign to thwart Nadar’s presidential bid should also be a warning sign to undecided voters.
One of Kerry’s main talking points is that he will be able to “make nice” with other countries and world leaders and bring them back to America’s side. My question is, if the Kerry team is unable to convince Ralph Nadar to come into the fold, how do they expect to cajole or persuade leaders from other countries to support American policies. I saw Michael Moore on Bill Mahr’s HBO liberal gabfest
“Real Time” on his knees, along with Mahr, begging Nadar not to run. Perhaps this is the Kerry plan for bringing world leaders to our way of thinking.
Of course that’s not true, because Kerry’s plan is to move America’s policies in line with the way the rest of the world thinks. Kerry has said as much in his rare foreign policy speeches. He’d rather switch, than fight. Is that the man you want as your president?
Capitulation does not a leader make. Standing firm, in the face of adversity and opposition, is the sign of leadership. Name a time Kerry has every demonstrated his willingness to do that…..That’s right, you can’t, because Kerry is a follower, not a leader. He follows polls to se what he should say and what his policies should be. He was a war hawk on the war in Iraq when it was politically expedient to do so, and when it wasn’t he followed Howard Dean down the “America was wrong” path. Kerry, who had never introduced a piece of legislation with his name on it in nearly 20 years of public service, has followed his party’s most liberal leaders with every vote.
In this time of peril and uncertainty in the world America can’t afford a follower in the oval office. We need a leader with conviction and resolve. The choice is clear.
CRAZY WORLD PART 1
THE GOVENOR OF NEW JERSEY has come out of the closet. Wait. That is not an accurate description of that farce of a press conference that Govenor McGreevey held last week. A better description would be that he played the “I-am-being-persecuted-because-I-am-gay” trump card in an effort to ward off yet another investigation of his corrupt administration. New Jersey Democrats and, for that matter, Democrats around the country are standing behind their man, apparently an appropriate position. There is no shame in the Democratic party. None. It is all about the quest for power.
JOHN KERRY, SPEAKING ON the floor of the Senate, said that the memory of being in Cambodia on Christmas Day in 1968 was “seared in his memory.” Apparently, it was only lightly browned. Soldiers who served with John Kerry now say that was not the case. After the Kerry campaign looked into the allegations they were forced to announce that, indeed, Kerry was not in Cambodia on Christmas Day. Hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good campaign speech. So far, only a few mainstream media outlets are looking into the allegations being made by the swift boat veterans who are challenging John Kerry on virtually every point of his service in Vietnam. I had to laugh this morning when Andrea Mitchell, hosting Meet The Press in Tim Russert’s absence, opened the topic of discussion on the swift boat veterans by asking about the “political motivation behind them” and the “Republican backers” who were funding their effort. WHAT ABOUT THE ALLEGATIONS? An objective journalist would and should look past motivations to first find out if there were any merit to the allegations.
Another point on John Kerry’s war record, you know, the one he keeps talking about and is using as the centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency. Do you realize that John Kerry’s total service time in Vietnam adds up to four months? So what Kerry is telling us is that what he did almost 40 years ago, for four months, proves that he is commander-in-chief material. (Please, whatever you do, do not look up John Kerry’s voting record on defense related issues and for Christ’s sake, don’t pay attention to his attendance record at Intelligence Committee meetings.)
THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION IS just days away. So is the opening of a new off-Broadway play, “I’m Going To Kill The President, A Comedy.” This is the current nature of political discourse from the far left about the President of the United States. They compare Bush to Hitler. They accuse him of being a deserter. They call him a liar, a murder and an idiot. They produce and distribute movies around the world saying the same thing because they just don’t have enough time to do it in person. So why not cut to the chase and say what you really feel. Okay, but we’ll wait until the convention. In the greatest of ironies, a play celebrating the murder of George Bush will be well attended by people who hate George Bush because they think he is a murderer. Save a seat for that great American Michael Moore.

AN IRANIAN JUDO WRESTLER has refused to fight his Israeli opponent in an early round at the Olympics in Athens, Greece. The IOC and other organizing bodies had yet to determine what action to take. HELLO! The Olympic games are supposed to transcend borders, race and creed. Why has this guy not been given the boot? In fact, the entire Iranian team should be penalized to show other would be conscientious protestors that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
Stay Tuned…This crazy world will continue.

“Every American Should See This.” — Rudy Giuliani, Former Mayor Of New York City
IRAQ – WAR – OIL
Hi Andrew,
Well, guess we do not agree on some items
Lets get real Americans, OIL? Come one, if it is all about oil, let go invade some of the other oil producing countries. Seems we have in the past defended one of these countries from Sadam.
OIL, do you realize how much oil THIS COUNTRY HAS? And I know what I am talking about. My family has enough oil wells in Oklahoma, along with Natural gas. There is a lot of that black gold under the ground. But, it is the bleeding heart liberals, who demand that, (not in regards to national parks and our natural beautiful back lands) but these people have put limits on how many wells can be placed on specific size of land, Land that used to be for crops, and still grow crops with just a few well intermingled.
I am not talking about drilling the heck out of Alaska, or Southern Utah, I am talking about areas, that even the devil will not live. WE HAVE OIL WE HAVE NATURAL GAS, WE HAVE A HUGE AMOUNT, IT IS UNTAPPED.
Take a drive into the SouthEastern Part of NewMexico, where it reaches 100 plus degrees, there you will see oil well after oil well, about 50 feet apart. Now, go into Oklahoma. The flatlands, you will see one well per 5 square blocks of land. There is a lot of oil under that unused ground, as my parents have wells that have been pumping for over 50 years and are still producing as much if not more than ever. But, as to the limits to how close one can place a well to the other, we are not able to pump as much as this country needs. WE HAVE IT, WE DO NOT NEED THEIR OIL, WE NEED PEOPLE WHO PROTECT THE ENVIROMENT, TO KNOW WHICH ENVIROMENT NEED PROTECTING AND WHICH DOES NOT.
Finally, the oil companies have allowed 4 additional wells to be drilled on our family land, I do not know how many wells we have, but do know, that all are producing gobs of oil and natural gas and will for an unlimited time.
So get off this War for Oil, sorry, it just is not true. It is a good cop out, it does make for an interesting dinner conservation, but it is not a fact,
We invaded that country for one reason and one reason only, WE HAD TO!

How Would The D-Day Invasion be Reported Today?
by Alex McRae
This piece was recently received from a Laugh At Liberals visitor and attributed to Alex McRae.
June 6, 1944. -NORMANDY- Three hundred French civilians were killed and thousands more wounded today in the first hours of America’s invasion of continental Europe. Casualties were heaviest among women and children.
Most of the French casualties were the result of the artillery fire from American ships attempting to knock out German fortifications prior to the landing of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops. Reports from a makeshift hospital in the French town of St. Mere Eglise said the carnage was far worse than the French had anticipated and reaction against the American invasion was running high. “We are dying for no reason,” said a Frenchman speaking on condition of anonymity. “Americans can’t even shoot straight. I never thought I’d say this, but life was better under Adolph Hitler.”
The invasion also caused severe environmental damage. American troops, tanks, trucks and machinery destroyed miles of pristine shoreline and thousands of acres of ecologically sensitive wetlands. It was believed that the habitat of the spineless French crab was completely wiped out, threatening the species with extinction.
A representative of Greenpeace said his organization, which had tried to stall the invasion for over a year, was appalled at the destruction, but, not surprised. “This is just another example of how the military destroys the environment without a second thought, ” said Christine Moanmore. “And it’s all about corporate greed.”
Contacted at his Manhattan condo, a member of the French government-in-exile who abandoned Paris when Hitler invaded said the invasion was based solely on American financial interests. “Everyone knows the President Roosevelt has ties to big beer,” said Pierre LeWimp. “Once the German beer industry is conquered, Roosevelt’s beer cronies will control the world market and make a fortune.”
Administration supporters said America’s aggressive actions were based in part on the assertions of controversial scientist Albert Einstein, who sent a letter to Roosevelt speculating that the Germans were developing a secret weapon, a so-called “atomic bomb.” Such a weapon could produce casualties on a scale never seen before and cause environmental damage that could last for thousands of years.
Hitler has denied having such a weapon and international inspectors were unable to locate such weapons even after spending two long weekends in Germany. Shortly after the invasion began reports surfaced that German prisoners had been abused by Americans. Mistreatment of Jews by Germans at so- called “concentration camps” has been rumored but so far, remains unproven.
Several thousand Americans died during the first hours of the invasion and French officials are concerned that uncollected corpses pose a public health risk. “The Americans should have planned for this in advance,” they said. “It’s their mess and we don’t intend to clean it up.”
I’m glad the soldiers who fought and died so bravely on D-Day and throughout World War II did so decades ago. In the 1940s war was hell, but at least our troops didn’t have to fight the media folks back home.
Tales Of Ronald Reagan Movie Actor
By Stephen Schochet
In 1937, 26-year-old Chicago Cubs radio announcer Ronald Reagan had the acting bug rekindled in him. The former Dixon, Illinois native performed on stage in high school and college but during the great depression he had drifted into the sports world. In those days the Cubs trained in California and Reagan went with them to get away from the Iowa cold and pursue his Movie Star dream. Through a friend he got a screen test at Warner Brothers. Studio executives had mixed reactions. He was no Robert Taylor, but he did have more of an All- American look than some of the stars that worked at the Warner’s factory, such as James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart. The glasses and crew cut had to go. When questioned about his acting experience Reagan told several lies to pad his resume. The casting Director asked him to stick around an extra day for more tests. “No dice”, he said feigning indifference when he was really desperate. “I’m on the
train with the Cubs.” He left the studio thinking he had blown any chance to be signed by them. He was amazed that same day when Warners made an offer to put him under contract at $200.00 a week, and hastily agreed before they changed their mind.
In typical Hollywood fashion the former radio announcer was cast as a radio announcer. It seemed like every film his big line was “Get me the City desk! I have a story that will break this town wide open!” Ronald who was once a lifeguard preferred playing heroes to the drunken socialite he portrayed along side Bette Davis in Dark Victory (1939) even if meant he’d be in mostly B- movies. He learned quickly that Hollywood could be a cutthroat place. He dated some of his leading ladies who fell out of love him after their movie was over. He worked with insecure stars like Errol Flynn, who demanded that the taller Reagan not stand next to him on camera. And there were tough Directors like the Hungarian born Michael Curtiz, with whom he made Santa Fe Trail (1940). In one scene the young actor watched in amazement as Curtiz kept telling an extra playing a minister to keep moving backwards until he fell of a scaffold, severely injuring his leg. “Get me another minister!” shouted the angry director.
In order to better his career he suggested to his bosses that they buy the story of the legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne and Reagan could play the role of the tragic halfback George Gipp. Warner Bros. liked the first idea more than the second: he was told he was too small. Reagan produced a photograph of himself playing college football; he was actually bigger than Gipp. He got the part but Knute Rockne All American (1940) was not all fun and games. One day Reagan showed up to shoot the scene where Gipp ran the ball eighty yards for a touchdown. He was told he was not needed. They would film something else instead. He proceeded to eat a huge and unhealthy breakfast. Then he was informed they were going to film the run after all. After the third eighty-yard take Reagan dashed far past the goal line where he privately lost his meal.
He was a political animal right away, driving his Hollywood co- workers to distraction with his praise of the policies of Franklin Roosevelt. It was mostly just talk; he rejected any suggestion that he might someday go into politics. One time he was yammering on about the necessity of government aid when a friend suggested he run for President. “You don’t like my acting either!” He wailed.
Ronald Reagan’s Star rose with King’s Row (1942) where he gave a dramatic performance in which his legs were amputated and he screamed out,” Where’s the rest of me?” King’s Row gave his agent Lew Wasserman the leverage to negotiate a solid movie star salary for him. But his acting opportunities slowed because of military service during World War II. Though his terrible vision kept him from seeing combat (he was told that if he was sent overseas he would accidentally shoot an American General and probably miss him) the short propaganda films he appeared in (for which he received military, not movie star pay) did little to help his career. By the time war ended he sensed the public wanted new faces.
He met Jane Wyman on the set of Brother Rat (1938). She was attracted to him right away but wondered if his niceness was just an act. She convinced herself he was the real deal when she saw he was just as kind to waiters as he was to big shots at the studio. But after the war her career moved ahead of his with her Academy Award winning performance as a deaf mute in Johnny Belinda (1948). There was gossip about her having had a love affair with her co-star Lew Ayres. And his constant harping on politics drove Jane Wyman crazy; sometimes she would yawn away in public when he got on his soapbox. Still with all that Reagan was shocked when they divorced, that was something that happened to other people. During that time the stressed out Midwesterner came down with a severe case of pneumonia that nearly killed him.
Ronald Reagan became frustrated with both his acting career and his personal life. In The Hagen Girl (1947) he reluctantly became the first man to kiss twenty-year-old Shirley Temple on screen. He argued that he was that he should end up with Shirley’s schoolteacher, but the Director was Reagan’s age, had a teenage girlfriend and wanted to make a point. Movie patrons shouted,”Oh no!” when he and Shirley got into a clinch. He became President of the Screen Actors Guild and as his politics drifted more to the right threats came from Communists in Hollywood. Perhaps they would throw acid in his face or his bomb his house. He began carrying a gun for protection. Movie bosses saw
Reagan more as a labor negotiator than a viable Movie Star. He broke his leg at a charity baseball game, which cost him two movie roles and a sizeable amount of money. He publicly stated he could do a better job choosing his roles than Jack Warner, who fired him after fourteen years without a handshake. He enjoyed making Bedtime For Bonzo (1951) at Universal but he knew his amazing chimp co-star was stealing the show when the Director Fred De Cordova started giving personal instructions to Bonzo instead of his trainer. Reagan’s money problems became so severe in the early 1950s that he tried to eek out extra cash by selling his autographs through the mail.
After he became the President of the Screen Actors Guild in 1949, he met Nancy Davis a not very ambitious actress who needed her name cleared from being linked to a Communist group. They hit it off immediately, but he took it slow and dated several actresses in Hollywood. When he woke up one morning with a girl whose name he couldn’t remember he decided it was time to marry again. He and Nancy co-starred in the disappointing, big budget Hellcats Of The Navy (1957) but the new Mrs. Reagan was far more interested in her family than acting and unlike his first wife never threatened his ego.
Ronald Reagan became a rich man by moving into television. Thanks to the advice of his longtime agent and manager Lew Wasserman he became the host of the General Electric Theater (1953-1962). But success in TV did not translate into high demand at the box office. The movie offers became fewer. In 1964 he made a film called The Killers where
he played a villain for the first time. Audiences were shocked when the nice guy they thought they knew smacked co-star Angie Dickinson in the face. Reagan found the role unpalatable. He had a falling out with Wasserman who felt he was a whining has-been. Faced with a future of similar type roles made it easier for him to go into politics full time.
Ronald Reagan denied that he was a great communicator. He felt that the content of his words was more important than his style. But he never forgot his movie roots. “Win one for the Gipper”! “May the force be you!” “Go ahead! Make my day!” They all became political sound bytes for him. And sometimes he could use film references as a source for witticisms. Early in his first term as Governor of California the now very conservative Reagan described an encounter with a hippie. “He looked like Tarzan, acted like Jane and smelled like Cheetah!” But Reagan had to take it as well as dish it out. Once as President he leaned on a prominent Democrat. “We have to cut taxes, damn it! Do you know when I was in the movies I was in the 90% tax bracket.” “Ninety percent? My God, Mr. President, I didn’t think you were that good of an actor!” The President roared with laughter.
