Can we get our country back to it’s ole self morally? We are getting so many vile programs on TV, songs that are vulger and movies that depict crime and hatred, no wonder the children of today have such a vocabulary and lack of respect.

I think it started when Madeline Murray O’Hare complained
she didn’t want any prayer in our schools.
And we said, OK.

read the Bible in school,
the Bible that says
“thou shalt not kill,
thou shalt not steal,
and love your neighbors as yourself,”
And we said, OK…

Dr. Benjamin Spock said
we shouldn’t spank our children
when they misbehaved
because their little personalities
would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.
And we said,
an expert should know what he’s talking about
so we won’t spank them anymore..

Then someone said
teachers and principals better not
discipline our children when they misbehave.
And the school administrators said
no faculty member in this school
better touch a student when they misbehave
because we don’t want any bad publicity,
and we surely don’t want to be sued.
And we accepted their reasoning…

let’s let our daughters have abortions if they want,
and they won’t even have to tell their parents.
And we said, that’s a grand idea…

Then some wise school board member said,
since boys will be boys
and they’re going to do it anyway,
let’s give our sons all the condoms they want,
so they can have all the fun they desire,
and we won’t have to tell their parents they got them at school.
And we said, that’s another great idea…

Then some of our top elected officials said
it doesn’t matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs.
And we said,
it doesn’t matter what anybody, including the President,
does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good….

And someone else took that appreciation a step further
and published pictures of nude children
and then stepped further still by
making them available on the Internet.
And we said, everyone’s entitled to free speech….

And the entertainment industry said,
let’s make TV shows and movies that promote
profanity, violence and illicit sex…
And let’s record music that encourages
rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes…
And we said,
it’s just entertainment
and it has no adverse effect
and nobody takes it seriously anyway,
so go right ahead.

Now we’re asking ourselves
why our children have no conscience,
why they don’t know right from wrong,
and why it doesn’t bother them to
kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.

Undoubtedly,
if we thought about it long and hard enough,
we could figure it out.

I disagree with Alice on this one, but Cooper is one of the greatest rockers of alltime. He still tours and puts out really good albums.

If I didn’t already think it before, I am now confirmed in my belief that Sean is delusional. He is a like a frigthened little boy who sees fear and danger under every rock and lashes out at it with violence as a way to conceal his own insecurity.

The American experiment is coming to an end, and that end is as a paranoid, violent people slowly losing credibility in the world as they try to use violence and agression to solve all their problems. Sean is the poster boy of that America… Will another version of the ending prevail?

I have no Idea WHAT THE HELL YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! You’re all over the map. North, South, East, West…..first you say you love the America then you bash the War on Terror. First you say you live overseas, and then you say you live here and you are proud of this country. You say you didn’t like either candidate, and cited different reasons, but let me ask you…Who did you vote for..I’ll bet it was Kerry.
First off, you must have been wearing blinders after 9/11, because there were plenty of people saying, “America sucks” (as you so intelligently put it). For example, there were hundreds of Palestineans dancing in the streets and celebrating in the wake of 9/11. There are even people in this country who tried and are still trying to make the case that America quote “Got what we deserved.” on 9/11. The most recent is a head college professor in Denver, Colorado at a major University. He’s released a book saying that the victims of 9/11 were not Innocent! He’s said that we got everything we deserved and that we deserve more! What would you call this?
You claim that you are “proud” of all our boys and girls in uniform (I also noticed that you didn’t have the respect for them to call them Men and Women); however, you don’t seem to be proud of what they’re fighting for. You don’t seem to be proud that we are liberating the people of Iraq and changing the face of the Middle East by spreading freedom. This is something that ONLY the Bush administration has succeded in.
You say you are terrified to pull out your Passport wherever you end up taking a vacation. Why is that….Do you have something to hide?
By the way you said that we aren’t living in 1919 anymore under the Wilson era. Funny you mentioned that; Woodrow Wilson spearheaded the first World War to put an end to the first axis of evil, and you say that we need to pay attention to the international community. Let me ask you something….”DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?”. You say we can’t be isolationists, and to prove that you cite a president who sent our Men overseas to fight for Europe to end the first World War.
Final point, and I’m going to try to make this quick ’cause I tired of waisting my time on you, You say the media isn’t liberal. This, in and of itself, displays that you have no clue what you are talking about. What do you call Dan Rather and CBS using forged documents to try to change the outcome of the election in ’04. What do you call the majority of the media, that’s right ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest, posting up every body and act of violence that they can find and not giving one single minute of airtime to the rest of what’s happening in the other 80% of the country that is under control. What do you call the media notifying the American people everytime there was a soldiers death, and saying spinning it like it was in vein because Iraq is a Quagmire and our military is only occupiers INSTEAD OF LIBERATORS! You have absolutely no clue what a skewed media is.
You are the same type of European, socialist appeaser that tried to deal with Hitler by appeasement. You think that we should just turn a blind eye to Evil tyrants, and…”If we just be nice to them…and and.. show them that they are our friends….and…and…that we mean them no harm….that…that they’ll leave us alone and everything will be ok….Ahhhh”.

I’m absolutely entertained by both sides of the argument here, especially by those who try to sound tough and all while they also try to simulataneously speak logic. I just want to say that I live overseas, and all I hear is anti-Bush rhetoric. Trust me, I have no love for either of the former candidates. I think Bush is far to rash and gung-ho, as well as discriminatory and Kerry was to wishy washy to be much of a leader. I would like to point out, though, that when 9-11 happened, I didn’t hear a single word uttered that was even close to “America sucks”. Now, all I’m faced with is ridicule for being American. I’m proud of my nation, I’m proud of all our boys (and girls) in uniform (with the exception of Rumsfield, Wolfowitz and Bush when he tries to pretend he did his duty in the Texan national guard). But how can I stay proud of my nation when all Bush’s war on terror has served to do is make me terrefied of pulling my Passport out wherever I end up taking a vacation? How can I say I’m proud of my nation when my government intentionally tried to mislead the world? People who say international community go to hell, wake up. We aren’t living in 1919 Wilson era anymore. America is the best right now, yes, but we can be a whole lot better if we work with the world. At least we won’t have to keep watching and hearing reports of our people getting killed in Iraq and by some terrorist outfit somewhere in the world. I’m not saying that we be “the UN’s bitch”. No. I’m saying that we work collaboratively instead of confrontationally. Oh, and by the way, I can assure you the media is NOT liberal, and especially not communist. Trust me, try the Chinese media. THAT is communist. Try the DPRK media. THAT is communist. Not CNN, not NBC, not CBS, not ABC. Being international is not the same as being the “bitch” of the international community. We all live on the same world, we can’t be isolationist.

When ever anyone is in an argumaent as to how much the rest of the world hates us, try and remember that the word “Hate” used to be “Envy”. Yes, the rest of the world Envy’s the United States bounty of Food and Wealth, and wishes that they lived in a country just like ours, but they cannot, I wish they could. World Envy of us breeds all sorts of ill feelings of the United States, and it seems no one remembers that the United States Feeds and Clothes the World, and how much good is really here in the U.S. . Only here can anyone, I mean anyone (Don King?) become King or Queen in their own right. I will never know why so many wealthy Hollywood Movie/Rock Stars want to take away more and more of the common man’s liberties. Is it possible they are really Elitist’s?, using the money that we fans shell out for their Songs and Movies, and using the very Liberal Media ( http://www.cmpa.com ) to enslave us into their Communist Ideals? I don’t know, I don’t have all of the answers, but Please don’t allow the Bitter and Hateful to destroy us. Please.
