Liberals never let facts get in the way of a good argument. That is just one of the undeniable truths of life that must be accepted by all conservatives. A recent posting on this web site from a chronic Bush hater called “bushisacrook” offers up W’s “resume” and accomplishments as president. Unfortunately this posting was full of lies and half truths, witch is the typical basis for a liberal arguments. It would take to much space to address them all individually,
GEORGE W. BUSH RESUME
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
1. I attacked and took over two countries. Yes, this is what Bush did. Without being provoked, George Bush took it upon himself to attack and take over two countries….and we would like to apologize to Canada and Mexico.
2. I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the Treasury.
I shattered the record for biggest annual deficit in history.
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 2-month period. I set the all-time record for the most foreclosures in a 12-month period. I set all-time record for biggest drop in the history of the stock market. Hey, did you hear? We’re bankrupt. I guess the Wall Street Journal missed that story, and for the record, the deficit, as a percentage of GDP, which is the only important measuring stick, is still lower than it’s been in decades. (It’s called Economics 101. Take it. Learn It. Live It.) It is an economic fact that George Bush inherited a U.S. economy that was stalling and beginning to tumble and had to deal with a world that was in a death spiral from Germany to Japan. Then 9/11 wreaked havoc on the the economic center of the universe….All in all, I’d say Bush has done a pretty good job protecting us from a Carter-like malaise.
3. In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history. After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history. Any third grader probably understands that a president, never has a vacation. Ever. All they do is move the headquarters for the running of the free world from one location to another. If you call having constant, 24 hour, security presence and daily briefings from everyone who works for you a vacation, then you’re right. ( What a bullshit complaint. I probably shouldn’t even have acknowledged it.)
4. In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their jobs.
I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history. See Economy 101. And for the record, in the last 8 months nearly 1.5 million new jobs have been created, thanks to Bush tax cuts and economic policy.
5. I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other president in US history. After Economics 101, check out Civics 102. Amending the constituion requires a super majority vote of both houses of congress, then ratification by the legislative branches of two thirds of the states. It’s a little harder than just a pen stroke.
6. I presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in US history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have. Are you starting to understand why school vouchers are so important. Apparently the person who posted this was not alive when Jimmy Carter was president. I remember gas rationing and the “odd/even” method of being told what day you could buy gas. If Bush would have emptied the national oil reserves the day he took office, it would be making it to the pump right about now….but then again, you’d have to understand a little bit about how the oil industry works to get it.
7. I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. It’s good to be the king.
8. I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history. Thank you. And would the jackasses who kept us in those outdated, irrelevant treaties please stand up.
9. I’ve made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history. How do you know? I mean, wouldn’t the most secret and unaccountable presidency, still be a secret….and unaccountable?
10. I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the Union simultaneously go bankrupt. Again, the Wall Street Journal must be sleeping on the job to miss this one.
11. I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market in any country in the history of the world. No, that would be Bill Clinton. On two counts. The Enron and World Com debacles were at fever pitch under Clinton….and do you recall under which administration Ken Lay and all his ilk were exposed and prosecuted?…..
12. I am the first president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the will of the United Nations and the world community. Okay take Economics first period, Civics second period and American History third period. We’ll leave the schedule open after lunch.
13. I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. The United Nations rendered itself irrelevant by failing to do what it said it would and then actively try to thwart enforcement of it’s own directives. By the way, you should also do some reading on the Oil For Food scandal that receives virtually no media attention in this country. The reason the U.N. fought against invading Iraq is because so many U.N. officials and world leaders were making so much money off Sadam being in power, to lose it would be unthinkable.
At this point I’m just tired. If there were at least some factual basis to the remaining claims made by this crazed Bush hater I might enjoy the debate, but when an argument is based on lies, ignorance and willful distortion…there is no debate. In fact, there is nothing worthy of debate, a point I prove with a final challenge.

And that, my friends, is why Bush is an evil person and a terrible president.
Bush might have lost jobs but what seems to fly under the radar of most liberals is that he gained them back. That, of course, is not to be reported since we can’t have his looking good or give him credit for his accomplishments – just the events which we label as his failures.
I’ll be the first to admit that Bush is not the greatest President of the past century (though he’s the greatest one of this millenium). He’s not the smartest guy on the block and nor is he the best politician. What he is, however, is mostly honest and he has ideals. Kerry, on the other hand, is mostly dishonest and has very few ideals except one – whatever it takes. If he has to lie, cheat and pander his way into office, well, taht’s the price he has to pay and it doesn’t come with too great a price.
Someone should make Kerry’s resume… wait, I’ll do that right now. Here’s what Kerry would put on his resume:

What you seem to have forgotten is that Dubya only gained back 1.5 million jobs. That still leaves a deficit of 500,000 jobs. He will be the first president in over 50 yrs to leave without creating a single new job.

A deficit of half a million jobs is not the same as a deficit of two million jobs. When Dubya took office the economy was on the top of a hill and it was looking down the slope. He inherited (from a democrat) an economy that was bound to die out soon – he handled the economy remarkably well throughout the above, 9/11, the corporate scandals and many more events that, would a lesser person have been in office, who knows what would have happened?

Somebody needs to take a history class. The last time the US Constitution was amended was in 1992 which limits Congressional pay taxes.

Was it a defensive measure, because Iraq was somehow funding terrorism? Well, I doubt that, perhaps Bush did suspect Iraq of funding 9/11 in some way, however…well actually, I don’t know enough about this matter to really make a good judgment as to whether Bush really did think Attacking Iraq would protect it’s country, however, since it has really, I would imagine had the opposite effect…pftt sorry I can’t really comment on this one.
A third possibility is that he wanted a hand in creating a pro – US state in the middle east so he could shore up US oil interests and increase US influence in that region.
I think the third one is the likely based on the evidence available and I also think you are an embarrassment to conservatives.
I would also urge some of the more socialist posters try to appear less insane/angry/bashing – I understand it is difficult not to be angered by (what we see as) such ignorance, but any baseless, insulting and illogical comment simply plays into their hands.

I just want to comment on the people who downplay Bushes accomplishments economically (with the new jobs ect.. and finances)….
America is still the wealthiest country in the wold.
Our poor are wealthier then alot of poeple in other country. Particularly in Africa.

using the fact that bush didn’t screw up the great thing the usa has financially as a way to defend him is weak at best. it is true the stock exchange is skyrocketing and there are a lot of jobs. what about his defense spending, which he still focuses on in his new economic plan? too much.
our society has been great for a while based on our history, thats america for you. thats why people want to come here. bush didn’t do anything to establish our high standard of living.
america’s standard of living is higher than that of many of africa’s countries. how can you compare the two? they are totally different. yet, america still has poor, but also people who are way too rich. the rich seem to be getting richer and people are getting too materialistic.
that needs to change. why do people need so much money? so they can spend more and that trickles down? pointless, why can’t the rich pay more taxes, they don’t need it.

Bush raided social security to give tax cuts to the upper incomes telling them that it is their money. Those people never paid the social security taxes! Liar! I have a disability confirmed by a specialist but social security claims there is nothing wrong with me on the basis of a 3 minute exam conducted by one of their doctors! It is MY MONEY that I paid for 35 years until Bush sent my job to COMMUNIST CHINA. But Bush won’t let me have it because he thinks those millionaire friends of his don’t have enough money! Somehow this is what is protecting us against terrorism! Then the jerk decides to invade Iraq and give up on bin Laden! 6 months after 9/11 Bush said bin Laden is not a priority and does not even think about him! This is unacceptable and impeachable!

The tax cuts worked like this: the highest bracket went from 39% to 35%, the middle of the road got another 3 or so % and the bottom went from 15% down to 10%. So, looking at the numbers, we see that it’s 3-4% for each group EXCEPT the bottom bottom which got a whole 5%!!!!. Now, YOU WANT TO TRY AND SPIN IT ANOTHER WAY? Please, try to… I love to read the ignorance of America that never ceases to amaze me on sites like this… It’s almost like the old adage that more whites are in jail than blacks. WELL LOOK AT THE POPULATION DIFFERENCE YOU GOOFBALLS! Let’s explain it with apples and oranges. If you have 10 apples and 20 oranges and there are 11 oranges that are eaten, then you have 9 left (45% left over), or 55% gone or eaten. If you have 3 apples eaten, you have 7 left, or 30% gone, 70% remaining. One would think that since there are 11 oranges eaten compared to the 3 apples eaten, there are more oranges eaten. Okay, Let’s use blocks and circles. You have 8 blocks, 2 circles. 3 of the blocks are put in a container. 1 of the circles is put in the container. You have more blocks than circles put in the container, yes? BUT THERE ARE ALSO WAY MORE BLOCKS THAN CIRCLES TO START WITH!!!! SO IT WOULD MAKE SENSE THAT THERE ARE MORE BLOCKS THAN CIRCLES PUT IN BUT IF YOU REALLY, REALLY WANTED TO KNOW THE REAL NUMBERS, ONE WOULD LOOK AT THE % BASED ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OR POPULATION OF SOMETHING!!!!! You see, in reality, there are 50% or HALF of the circles in the container as opposed to .375% of the blocks. Some facts folks about taxes and who pays them… The top 1% pays more than the bottom 90% of the taxes in this country, billions and billions of dollars. Not only that, how about some clarification on these numbers…? 39% down to 35% for the top %tile and 15% down to 10% or so for the bottom is for the rich. That’s 5% lower for the poor but only 4% lower for the rich!!!! Who is in charge of the liberals math books??? Back to the apples and oranges theory if you’re having trouble here guys… Let’s say that I make 1 million dollars, I pay $350,000 or 35%!!! Let’s say that you make $30,000, you pay $4500 or 15% in taxes. Hmm, $350,000 paid out in taxes or $4500 paid out in taxes, which is more? I can give you 350,000 apples or 4500 apples, which would I rather give away? Sure, I’d also rather have 1 million to start with but the point I’m making here is who pays what in taxes folks, taxes! Focus on the amount paid here. THE RICH PAY MORE!!! THE TAX CUTS ARE NOT FOR THE RICH AND THEY NEVER WERE AND IT’S JUST ANOTHER RIDICULOUS LOAD OF GARBAGE WE HEAR FROM JEALOUS MORONS WHO ARE THE MENTAL AGE OF 5 AND CAN’T HANDLE BEING LOSERS BUT DON’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT TO CHANGE IT OR MAKE THEIR LIVES BETTER!!! Numbers don’t lie!!! So as we see here, the top bracket pays 25% or so more than the lowest bracket!
Oh, and to top it all off, the top 1% paid 35.7% of all taxes in 2004, and 39.38% of all taxes in 2005, suggesting the “rich” now pay more as share of all taxes than before and the tax burden on the rich has increased. Weren’t the tax cuts of 2003 supposed to be “tax cuts for the rich?
