NO MORNING FOR MAINSTREAM

Here’s another poem from contributor Russ Vaughn.

No Mourning for Mainstream

Ah, once so grand you owned this land,

With your wisdom you did ply us,

Until old dears this election year,

You at last unmasked your bias.

Yes, once were you our only view,

No challenge did you face.

You had your say and called the play,

‘Til the Blogs got in the race.

We’d like to see fair honesty

But our breath now we’re not holding

Because we know how really low

Are the odds of that unfolding

So what is left when we’re bereft

Of hearing truth from you?

We’ll place our bet on the Bloggers’ net

To let the truth come through.

That pajama’d host really wants to roast

Your assets that’s for certain.

To debunk the myth of your monolith,

On your act to drop the curtain.

Alas old dears, you’re done we fear,

Your dynasties doomed to tatters,

And ‘tween the coasts your opinions toast,

About anything that matters.

  1. Anyone who believes that, in the greater scheme of things, Osama bin Ladin attacked us, will lead this country in the wrong direction – every time.

  2. Anyone who believes that Al Qaeda was in New York on 9/11 but not in Baghdad, will lead this country in the wrong direction – every time.

  3. I’m not sure I understand your first statement – are you saying that “anyone who believes that Osama bin Laden attacked us will lead the country in the wrong direction?”

  4. The media has rolled over and played dead since 9/11. It hasn’t exposed any of Herr Bush’s lies. This will be the last election where we have even a semblance of a free press if Bush is ‘elected’. I am a long-time Libertarian and former Gingrich supporter who refuses to drink the Koolaid. When are you lemmings going to wake up?

  5. Mr. F*****guson,
Is that the same lame liberal press, a la Dan Rather, who presented falsified documents to support a lie and the stood by their lie after the documents proven to be forged??
Can’t wait for the strong Bush VICTORY. Big celebration. Big, big celebration!!!!!

  6. Gary, Rather made a mistake and apologized. His mistake didn’t cost anyone their life and actually helped the Bush campaign, as anyone with half a brain would recognize. If you’re one of the few who is too stupid to recognize that, then let me know.

Bush, on the other hand, made a mistake, cost us thousands of our best and brightest, hundreds of billions of dollars, our respect in the world, and didn’t apologize.

I regret you are too stupid, ignorant, dishonest, or hopelessly misguided to see the difference.

And there is a tiny part of my soul that can’t wait for the strong Bush victory either. Because in 4 years (probably sooner) I’ll be able to say ‘I told you so, you stupid shmucks.’

All the evidence is there, but you’d rather live in fear, hatred, poverty and war than live in peace, hope and prosperity. You’ll get your wish if Il Dubya steals another election on Tuesday.
