TED KOPPEL IS A LIAR
I didn’t get to see Ted Koppel read off the names of the dead in the war on terror on ABC’s Nightline. My local station pre-empted the show with a locally produced show that honored veterans in general and paid homage to the dead from 9/11.
The only thing that I do know is the Ted Koppel lied when he said there was no political or ratings motivation behind the show. I’ve been in the media business long enough to know that ratings are ALWAYS considered, especially during sweeps. I also know that Ted Koppel is a liberal’s liberal and has ALWAYS had a political agenda.
Are we to believe that Koppel, who has always opposed the war and ABC, the most liberal of all the major networks, put aside their political opinions to honor the dead? There were plenty of other ways to honor the soldiers who have died and those who are still fighting in the war on terror. Reading the names of the dead accomplished two goals. First, it was a stunt. I GUARANTEE you that there was a meeting that went something like this;
TED: “…and the whole show will be nothing but me reading the names of the dead while we show their pictures on screen.”
PRGUY: “That’s a great idea. We’re going to get some press on this one. Mary, let’s get a press release out to the Drudge Report so we can start stirring up the conservative attack machine…”
MARY: “I’m already on it boss, and I’ll leak it to FOX News.”
TED: “Now remember, we can’t look like we’re doing this to try and hurt President Bush…..JUST KIDDING!
ALL: Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha….
And by the way, if Koppel and ABC really wanted to honor the soldiers who gave their life protecting America and liberating Iraq, they would show pictures of the schools and hospitals being built, the food being delivered and grateful citizens of Iraq saying how much they appreciate what those brave men and women did. Guess we won’t be seeing those images.

Damn straight we wont, because Liberals wont allow it, because they control the media.

Zach, if we got rid of every media outlet except the most right wing bias, we’d totally fuck over our nation, because that’s the kind of thing that that People Like Stalin or Hitler do.
The purpose of the media is to report on both the good and the bad of the government, while I do agree, many of them are extremely liberal, many are extremely conservative too, and it’s this balance that give Americans the right to make up their own minds.
If not, than one can simply go on Fox news and say the same old bull crap like they do now, and people will believe them, because it’s been scientifically proven that if one hears a lie over and over and over again, they will eventually believe it, and that my friend is a clause for totalitarianism.

Coming into this very late, and I apologize.
Even Fox is substantially to the left. A neutral look at its “news” and themes shows a clear bias, masquerading as an attempt at discussion. Fox may be less left than SeeBS, but it’s still not right wing by any stretch of the imagination–and I speak as a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, rabid-free speech endorsing Libertarian.
