A Bit of Humor

A: Vultures will eat the skunk.
Q: What’s the difference between a Democrat and a catfish?
A: One is an ugly, scum sucking bottom-feeder and the other is a fish.

How childish and crude.

kellerdbk,
I’m not a Democrat by any stretch of the imagination and I strongly disagree with most of the present day Democratic party platform, but I find this type of humor tasteless and useless when aimed at a whole group of people. Now, had you mentioned certain leaders of the party, I’d laugh, agree and, possibly, add my own. It’s the whole group aspect that is lacking truth, and is, therefore, lacking good humor. In my (sometimes) humble opinion, truly funny things must ring true to be funny. All democrats don’t fit the jokes, just as all Republicans don’t fit a stereotype. I keep harping on this, but, we ARE Americans and need to remind ourselves of that! Schisms will always exist anytime there is more than one person in a room;
it’s pointless to widen gaps that don’t need widening. Now, I could point out many faults in any given person/group - or I could find common ground and address any differences truthfully and without ’slams’. The latter takes more brainpower and self-control, which is exactly what is needed of every American.

I want to reply to the Rove Must Go entry but it isn’t taking comments.
The list of “Fox Facts” is pathetically inacurate.
First, remember that it is the CIA who requested the investigation because in their view laws may have been broken. Originally the investigation was about whether the covert intelligence act was broken but now it encompasses perjury and obstruction of justice.
Wilson was not a “democratic operative.” He served in the State Dept under George HW Bush and voted for him. You should actually go back and read what Wilson said in his report to the White House when he returned from his trip to Niger. The RNC has been telling gross lies about the entire event. If you believe them, shame on you. There is no doubt that his wife was a covert operative according to the CIA. That’s why the CIA referred the case to the Dept of Justice in the first place. We do know for a fact that Rove did reveal her identity (the name is irrelevant, it’s the identity that matters) to Cooper (and perhaps others as well). Novak told Rove the identity of a CIA operative - come on, even the RNC doesn’t really believe that. We know that Rove had access to a State Dept memo that Powell was showing to administration officials on AF1 during the africa trip. That’s where Rove found out about Wilson’s wife being in the CIA (why does the administration hate the CIA, by the way?). I look forward to seeing what the prosecution has to say about whether crimes were committed - I’ll bet you are way off on this one. Rove and Libby had absolutely no business talking about CIA employees, covert of not, purely for the purpose of smearing someone who was doing their job in the service of our country.

You probably read this in today’s Wall Street Journal. If not here are some excerpts.
A classified State Department memo that may be pivotal to the CIA leak case made clear that information identifying an agent and her role in her husband’s intelligence-gathering mission was sensitive and shouldn’t be shared, according to a person familiar with the document, the (paid-restricted) Wall Street Journal reports Tuesday. Excerpts follow.
News that the memo was marked for its sensitivity emerged as President Bush yesterday appeared to backtrack from his 2004 pledge to fire any member of his staff involved in the leaking of the CIA agent’s name. In a news conference yesterday that followed disclosures that his top strategist, Karl Rove, had discussed Ms. Wilson’s CIA employment with two reporters, Mr. Bush adopted a different formulation, specifying criminality as the standard for firing.
The memo’s details are significant because they will make it harder for officials who saw the document to claim that they didn’t realize the identity of the CIA officer was a sensitive matter. Patrick Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor, may also be looking at whether other crimes — such as perjury, obstruction of justice or leaking classified information — were committed.

The most convincing case that Novak revealed Plame’s CIA status to Rove is in the following article entitled “Rove Entirely Dependent on Novak for Top-Secret Government Information, Says Super-Secret White House Source” it is at http;//tomburka.com/
It changed my mind.

Doesn’t anyone remember “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” These are jokes stupid! Laugh or don’t laugh, just remember they are words and they cannot hurt you. Unless you let them!

I thought they were funny. Like I care what democrats think-lol
Right-Man Says: August 26th, 2005 at 5:31 am
Great jokes that fit an entire party of LOSERS. Who cares what they think. They are illogical and when they lose an argument they personally insult you.
Big L to the DemoRat party.
Right-Man Says: August 26th, 2005 at 5:36 am
To Lefty Loser. What you fail to mention because you can’t research worth crap is that Plame was in the Who’s Who Book that is PUBLISHED and was at that time. Anyone could pick it up and know who they guy was married to. Rove didn’t need to tell anyone.
Oh and by the way, the story is dead, now that you guys couldn’t prove yet another falsehood by doctoring documents.
Did you know that as soon as the investigation was underway that Rove issued a blanket legal document that allowed “all who have communicated with me, may disclose my identity as the source for any information you published.” And the male journalist who didn’t go to jail had to “check with his source and receive a waiver.” The guy was just stalling because Rove filed his waiver with the Federal Prosecutor and the legal teams of both reporters.
Mr. Jack Says: August 27th, 2005 at 7:42 am
Right-Man, The right also insults the left when they loose an argument, its a trait expressed by both sides equally, for example I’ll take your childish play on words democRAT. I think that if you were a GOOD republican like Joy, or Paul, you wouldn’t make such childish remarks, and actually educate yourself in the ways of rational political discussion instead of bashing the other party, which really doesn’t do much accept boost your ego.
And don’t call lefty a loser, the guy is a rarity among political debaters, one who instead of calling republicans scumbags and bottom feeders, actually looks for information relative to his debate and posts it for rational discussion.
Lefty Says: August 27th, 2005 at 10:43 pm
Right-Man,
I will give you $100 if you can find the name Valarie Plame in Who’s Who. Guess what it isn’t in there! Valarie Wilson’s name is. But the key piece of information isn’t in there, that she was a CIA covert agent. That’s what Rove revealed and that’s a felony and that’s why the CIA (not politicians or democrats etc.) wanted the matter investigated by a special prosecutor. When the grand jury finishes their work in October, we will see what indictments are handed down. Matt Cooper and Time Inc. required Rove to release them from confidentiality specifically. Rove’s insane lawyer screwed up and said during a TV interview that Rove had released Cooper from his obligation to protect his source (actually, though, Rove did no such thing himself). That is when Matt Cooper’s attorney called him and Time Inc. and told them they had a specific release from Rove. I would bet that Rove is furious at his attorney about that screw up because Rove will do time because of it. I have a nearly minute-by-minute account of the whole affair leading to Cooper’s testimony if you want to read it.

However if you want to talk about me knowing Childish and crude, I grew up with 4 younger siblings, the youngest of which is now in the 8th grade, and the oldest, next to me of corse is a senior in highschool. I spent alot of my life dealing with some very childish behavior as I consistantly had to look after them being the oldest and all, so why don’t you just sit down and shut your dirty mouth you miserable excuse for a republican.
oh and by the way, Im a registered republican, think twice before you speak.
Joy Says: March 23rd, 2006 at 1:54 am
Red,
Friendly fire from the back? Come on up, the weather’s fine on the front line.
Aim that anger at something dangerous, like life-threatening situations -which I don’t happen to be. Do something constructive with yourself here; I’m in no mood for bad aim.
