PLAME SHOULD POSE FOR PLAYBOY
All those who are tired of Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame, please raise your hand. Okay, everybody put your hand down.
If you’ve been following the recent developments in the CIA leak story you’re probably aware that it has become the biggest non-issue of modern times. Here are the undisputed facts of the case.
1. After a trip to Niger, Joe Wilson came back to the CIA and reported that officials he spoke to said Iraq HAD been inquiring about acquiring uranium. That Wilson report is part of the Senate report on the Uranium in Africa question.
2. A year later Joe Wilson changed his story and wrote an article in the New York Times saying he found no evidence of Iraq seeking uranium. He then went on the campaign trail for Democrats and became the poster boy for the “Bush Lied, People Died” crowd.
3. In reaction to Wilson changing his story, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Lewis Libby and others sought to discredit lies Wilson decided to start telling. That effort had a two pronged attack. The first was demonstrating that Wilson was either lying then or he was lying now. The second was to point out that Wilson didn’t have much experience in intelligence gathering and probably got the assignment to go to Niger because his wife, Valerie Plame, was a CIA muckety muck.
4. Robert Novak recently revealed that his confirmation that Valerie Plame was in fact Joe Wilsons wife came from 2 sources. #1, The Who’s Who listing that Wilson purchased, wherein he names his wife and published her photo and #2. A simple phone call to the CIA’s public information office.
5. Liberals saw an opportunity to prop this lie up and use for political gain and therefore forced a taxpayer funded investigation into the matter.
6. Patrick Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor spent several years and millions of dollars to find….NOTHING!
7. The only charge offered by Fitzgerald was a perjury charge against Lewis Libby for allegedly lying about whether or not he met with a certain reporter on a certain date.
8. Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson are now on speaking tours and negotiating book deals that could make them millions. Oh, yes. They’re also suing everybody they can think of because their lives and their childrens lives were put in harms way.
ANYONE CARE TO DISPUTE THOSE FACTS?
The only thing I wish would happen is to see Valerie Plame do a Playboy spread. Since she is the Darva Conger of the spy world, it would seem to me to be the perfect ending to this story.
QUAGMIRE, TIME TO PULL OUT!
First of all let me say that I am a strong supporter of our troops, but when faced with the incredible number of violent deaths, 18 dead in the last 17 days, I must put aside partisanship and say it is time to pull out….of Washington D.C.
OH DID YOU THINK I MEANT IRAQ? Noooooo. Iraq is a cakewalk compared to Washington D.C. In fact, right now at this moment, there are more Americans dying violent deaths in Washington D.C. than in Iraq. It is a quagmire, a lost cause, and the only sensible thing to do is to pull out now before we spend more money in a failed effort to save this city. After all, it’s not even one of the 50 states. It’s just a “district”.
Better yet, let’s take all these citizens and put them on C-130 transports and take them directly to Iraq where, statistically speaking, they will be much safer. Not only from flying bullets, but also from the wandering politicians.
SEE…TAX CUTS WORK!
Have you heard the news? Those tax cuts that George Bush gave to all his rich friends worked! The recent White House announcement about better-than-expected tax revenues has liberals cyring in thier granola. Why? Because America is actually better off and a better America won’t help in the upcoming elections.
President Bush announced that tax revenues were better than expected and the deficit was lower than expected. All thanks to a booming economy that was fueled, in part, by the Bush tax cuts. Doesn’t that sound like good news to you? Well see if you can find a positive comment by any liberal about this astounding news. That’s what it is, astounding. Consider the following undisputable facts.
When George Bush took office, the economy was tanking. That is a fact, the numbers show it.
We were attacked in our economic heart on 9/11. A fact.
We are fighting a war of revenge against that attack and to rid the earth of the scourge of Islamofacist terrorism. A fact.
Florida, then New Orleans and Mississippi’s Gulf Coast were ravaged by hurricanes. A fact.
The price of oil has tripled. A fact.
AND IN SPITE OF THESE CHALLENGES….
George Bush cut taxes, the economy started booming and the government is bringing in record amounts of tax revenues.
DAMN THAT BUSH AND HIS LIES….
How much longer do we have to debate the success of supply side, trickle down, economics. It works, everytime it’s tried and when the opposite is policy, raising taxes and more government control, we suffer.
Kennedy slashed taxes and the 60’s economy boomed.
Johnson raised taxes and the 70’s economy busted.
Reagan slashed taxes and the 80’s-90-’s economy boomed.
Clinton raised taxes and sent the economy into a tailspin.
Bush inherited the Clinton economy, slashed taxes and…..
Hello! Does anybody notice a pattern here. Yes, it is over simplified and many other factors played a roll in determining the fate of the economy, but time and time again lower taxes translate into more money in the private economy which means more jobs and more tax revenues for the government to conduct it’s business.
YES BUT THE TAX BREAKS FAVOR THE RICH…..
Okay, let’s get out the crayons and do the math. If Johnny has 10 apples and Mary has 2 and I take away half Johnny’s apples and half of Mary’s apples….who got the biggest cut in apples? That rich bastard Johnny, thats who? He must know Karl Rove. OF COURSE TAX BREAKS FAVOR THE RICH. THEY PAY MORE IN TAXES!
In fact, the wealthiest 1% of Americans pay more than 34% of ALL TAXES. Let me repeat that. 1% of Americans pay 34% of the taxes. If we’re going to cut taxes, they’re going to keep more money because they’re paying more, but it’s what they do with their money that makes the difference. They start business, hire people, create jobs, invest in the stock market, and generally do things that help create more tax payers.
In spite of all the evidence I had to LAL (thats laugh at liberals) when Nancy Pelosi told the Wall Street Journal recently that if she became Speaker of the House, she would see to it that the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy were rolled back.
Good idea Nancy….
