Hey Liberals! Where’s The Beef!
I read a Washington Post article saying that Karl Rove and President Bush seem to be unusually upbeat about the November elections. Now there are other articles surfacing saying that there may be some Rove magic or October surprise waiting in the wings, or that Bush and Rove have finally gone off the deep end. I don’t think its either. I think it is genuine confidence of a president who believes in who he is and what he represents and the learned assurance of the greatest political guru of our time. Bush believes in himself and his mission and he is confident that if he can convey the message properly, most Americans will believe with him. Rove is more realist and, I think, sees the numbers knows there in his favor.
Let’s start with Iraq. The Democrats may have fooled themselves into believing they have won this issue because of the difficutly this budding Democracy is facing, but they haven’t. Mainly because, they offer no alternative. If I’m wrong, show me, but I have tried to find an alternative by Democrats that is different to what we are doing now. Cut and run or troop re-demployment, by whatever name, it is not an election winning strategy and so far, that’s the best Democrats can offer. Advantage: Republicans
The Economy Stupid: Record setting job growth. Record unemployment. The stock market going through the roof. The budget deficit is falling…This list just keeps on going. I don’t know how it is where you live, but where I live, the economy is booming. New construction is going through the roof and the housing market is healthy and growing. The Democrats are going to fix this, how? By raising taxes on the wealthy? America has heard that song and dance before we don’t buy it. How much more proof do we need to make supply side economics the law of the land. Advantage: Republicans
The Media: Now, more than ever, there is an alternative to the left wing media. There is no longer a monopoly on news and information controlled by liberals. The leftist media and Hollywood are a powerful force to be sure, but in this day and age, no fact goes unchecked. Just ask Dan Rather about the new media. Advantage: Nobody, which means the playing field is even, at last.
Election Strategy: I went through a training program called The Political Training Institute. I learned in that program that the majority of undecided voters make their decision on who to vote for within the last 72 hours before the election. The critical time periods are 5 weeks out, 2 weeks out and the last three days. Five weeks out, Republicans had the momentum and then Foleygate hit. This week will lead into the two week out phase and I’ll bet you’ll see momemtum shift to the Republican party. I’d also be watching for a focused media blitz for Republicans on a national and local level.
Turnout: Forget everything else but this one. This is the key to local and national elections and my friends, conservatives are going to turn out for this one. They get it. They know what is at stake and they will be there when it counts.
Most Democrats are running on the “Beat Bush” platform and there is no beef in that. They stand for nothing except “put us in power and we’ll do better.” As I watched the Sunday morning talkshows I kept being amazed at how Democrat after Democrat could offer nothing about what they would do if elected. They could only talk about how bad things have been. Yeah….that’s the party for me.

You stated that the medi is being fair to both parties, but be honest with yourself, Hardly ANYONE would hate bush if it wasn’t for the media. If you go back and look at quotes from liberals from september 2003 they are all expressing the need to attack Iraq. Even Hilary clinton can be quoted saying that Iraq is a threat. You can go up to ‘joe’ on the street and ask him what he thinks of the president. He dislikes him, but he CAN NOT back it up. You ask him why he hates bush and he will say something stupid like the war in iraq. The congress voted on going to war against Iraq. If Bush would’ve vetoed it do you know how much crap would have hit him? The muslim extreamists attack our tower and there is a ‘rumor’ that Iraq is responsible and Bush says ‘no war’? That wouldn’t have worked. Even if he would have vetoed the vote, congress could have voted and over run the veto. Admit it, the media is turning every president into a bashing figure with no real power. I know many of you will be able to find small (or large) faults in my story, but I do beleive my overall message holds true. I am glad to be back at this site after taking a break for a few months and posting on other sites. I will have to inform buck, however, that I liked the older version better. Oh, and guys, is Jack back? If not does anyone know why he left or who he changed his identity to?

I was pretty sure there were posts before January 2004. Can we no longer access them?

I don’t think there were any pre 2004 posts archived. Laugh at Libs first started in 2004.

Kolran,
Congress never voted to go to war in Iraq. The senate voted to give the president the authority to disarm Iraq of WMD. Since Iraq had no WMD, in retrospect we know that the war was not justified and that granting the president the authority to invade Iraq on the grounds that they had WMD was essentially granting power to someone who did not know how to use such power responsibly. Using such power responsibly involves taking the steps necessary to be sure that you are getting it right. It is crucial to get it right when you are talking about invading a country that did has not attacked your country. Iraq did not attack us or support those who did. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and the UAE provided significant material support and the actual attackers. Have you noticed that the Bush administration is still very cozy with both of those countries. Do you think oil has anything to do with that?
