I got a boot with kerry’s name on it.
It pisses me off that assholes like him think this, hell many people I serve with have college degrees, I myself am fresh out of highschool but I got accepted to 3 different universities and I still joind the army, and to think, he served in a war himself, he’s a backstabbing son of a bitch I would not trust him with my life. Hope he isn’t planning on being senator for a while. this was pretty much career suicide

The hypocrisy I have just read in this article is appalling. You happily slam Senator Kerry for a (self-confessed) verbal gaffe, but you ignore the fact that your esteemed President has singlehandedly decimated the English language. To give a couple of examples:
- I think anybody who doesn’t think I’m smart enough to handle the job is misunderestimating
- The most important job is not to be governor, or first lady in my case.
- Rarely is the question asked, is . . . are children learning?
and best of all…
- Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.
And this idiot leads the free world?

Yes, British Nationalist…I see your point completely. I can see where those ‘gaffes’ slammed thousands of people..like our troops who are out fighting for freedom. Your examples totally relate. Uh-huh.
I wonder how many service men and women were offended by them and felt unappreciated, stabbed in the back and degraded? Not to mention the families of those who died in service. I don’t know, I’m not seeing the insult.
Perhaps I missed something in your post? Logic, maybe?
I guess if I had to choose between making verbal ‘gaffes’ of clumsiness as opposed to slandering my fellow soldiers,
well, call me simple minded, but I choose the former.
Kerry has chosen the life of a botched joke…a very sick one.

That last quote, I beleive, will have everybody, but Bush’s immediate family laughing, regardless of party. Does it matter who is stupider, though, Kerry or Enos (the first chimpansee in space)? I honestly think that we should be offering our oppinions about current topics such as what to do in north korea, or who is the biggest threat the liberals can put up in 2008. Honestly, Bill Clinton and Kerry are buffoons, but does it matter? Honestly, they failed their job and failed america (or in Kerry’s case his own stupidity ruined his own political future), but once again, does it matter? This almost makes me as mad as seeing two people talk about celeberties…

I don’t know about you, Joy, but I find the thought that Bush is trying to “think of new ways to harm our country and our people” extremely disturbing…
However, you ask for an explanation and it is only right that I give one. Therefore:
I think it is only right and proper that Senator Kerry is ridiculed for the remarks he made. He messed up on a national (and global) stage and he will rightly suffer for it. However, as he had admitted himself, the remark was not meant to be construed as an insult. Rather, it was a failed (and poor) attempt at humour for which we may life at him as we would anyone else who mishandles a joke.
However, to call him unpatriotic is going too far. This, we must remember, is a man who fought in Vietnam. Furthermore, the point of my post was that cons are perfectly happy to attack Kerry for his verbal gaffes and accuse him of lack of patriotism, but make no mention of President Bush’s seeming intention to conspire his own country.
The remark was not a serious one intended to undermine troops; it was a bad joke and should be treated as such, rather than a lack of patriotic fervour.

Thanks for making your point British_Nationalist. Kerry fought in vietnam. It all ties together since that is the only war we lost. You can argue that we didn’t lose it but, I wouldn’t be suprised if it was found kerry was found to have made the sol disicion to pull out, he is after all, a quitter. It is nice that everyone here ignores my posts, but as long as there are liberals to laugh at I am happy. On a different note, I beleive that liberal idiots took over the house, however, all that tells us is that the media is unhappy whith the war in Iraq. Republicans have the Senate and the Exeutive branch so we will survive. And about Bush being a joke, I have a joke for you… Nancy Palocy!

It was interesting to see the Rove-esque attack on John Kerry by the Republicans. This was their last move to try and win the election and it failed. John Kerry’s remark was stupid and pointless and so was the reaction from the right. The Democrats now control all of Congress and hopefully they will work WITH Republicans to solve problems.
