WMD
WMD WMD WMD
I remember the day June 22nd 2006 as it was just yesterday and my short-term memory is intact. “ WMDS Found in Iraq”. I think in the back of most rational people’s minds we all knew that they were there. After all Saddam Hussein killed tens of thousands of people, many with such weapons. Logic would dictate that Saddam didn’t just decide to go cold turkey flavored tofu. A warm feeling came over me as I heard the news as a sort of weight lifted off my shoulders. I thought that this would dampen the Lefts tag lines and possibly encourage one progressive to remove a bumper sticker; Bush Lied, No WMDS, No Blood for Oil, or the faded Kerry/Edwards stickers on every Subaru Forester from Denver to the Peoples Republic of Boulder. My warm feeling swiftly moistened as I realized that the left is no more rational than the purchase of a new pair of orange Crocks or Birkenstock clogs. I soon realized that now is when the conspiracy theories come to the surface. The weapons were planted or are part of Bush’s private stash he built in Texas with components from Wal-Mart to take over the worlds oil supply, Muhahahahah !!!! Images of Darrel Hanna wrapping her arms around the shells and shouting, “save the mustard gas ” filled my mind. At that moment a Toyota Prius zipped by me, with latte in hand, phone earpiece in ear, and a new Free Tibet sticker on the rear. The sticker was crooked but who am I to judge. I thought why is it that the left is so set on saving the Tibetans but does not want to save the Iraqians.
Free Tibet Mission Statement
Free Tibet Campaign stands for the Tibetans’ right to determine their own future. It campaigns for an end to China’s occupation of Tibet and for the Tibetans’ fundamental human rights to be respected. Founded in 1987, Free Tibet Campaign generates active support by educating people about the situation in Tibet. It is independent of all governments and is funded by its members and supporters.
I broke this down in my mind. Iraqians’ right to determine their own future. Campaigns for an end of Saddams murderous rampage over Iraq and for the Iraqians fundamental human rights to be respected. Sounds good but I think it must be taken a little further to be a progressive theme.
If Hollywood decided to fund the liberation than it would be a just cause and merit a bumper sticker if not an Academy Award for best documentary. To really bring it home you could include women and they would be allowed to have all the government-subsidized abortions they wanted. Oh, and men/women could marry one another, shouts from children through the streets of Baghdad would rise “ I have two mommies”. The Dixie Chicks could throw a huge benefit concert called SAND-AID where millions of $dinars were raised to pay themselves. There would be no military, no Jesus, everyone would wear Louie Vuitton, 3-day optional workweeks etc… When standing in line to receive routine medical care from Tom Cruise, hemp bracelets would be passed with W sucks charms, and we would all sing about buying the world a Coke Zero. There would be no class structure just Hollywood and hired help. A true utopia with hybrid Vespas, no smoking, no white males, and lots of little purse sized dogs. Once a week we could all gather and will the polar ice caps to stop melting. Al Gore would be the chief scientist and would put an end to global warming thus inventing global just right temperature. Each person would be allowed to vote for something before they voted against it. Scientology, Scientology, Scientology.

Did they use the crystal clear satellite pictures of the mobile factories to find those “WMD’s”, in 2006? You know the ones. The ones they used to justify this war? The ones that turned out to be bullshite? The ones they fabricated to build fear and false-nationalism? Is that how they found them?
And are they really WMDs if they are empty shells and rusting?
Rational thought requires facts. Something that your article lacks.
What it doesn’t lack though is humor. Generalization is fun! Wee!
What’s not so funny is how your attention is focused on our entertainment industry, and it’s jokers. When if I were to write a response I could smack back with a long list of Administration jokers. But is it as funny that the leader’s of the “free-world” are just as moronic as your martyres of liberalism? The fact is that rational thought on either extremes, left or right, is a joke.
To use these “liberals” to justify the existance of the ridiculous things this Adminstration is done is is irrational!

I actually think the original poster has a point about the Free Tibet Campaign. Attempting to “Free Tibet” is even more of a waste of time than the Iraq War. The reason for this is quite simple; Tibet is occupied by China which happens to have one of the largest and most powerful militaries in the world. If China WANTS to hold onto Tibet it will do so, regardless of whatever Amnesty or any other humanitarian organisation does or says.
Incidentally freeing Tibet from tyranny might not be such a great idea; the West’s record in this department is hardly 100%.

Way to follow through with a story and It makes a great argument against whoever posted this article, but there are too many assumptions in there to use that argument against all republicans (or as you put it ‘the right wing extreams’). I just wanted to see if the editors turn these into smiles (I know I will be critisized for this). :p >:o
;( :\ and a liberal smilie when they lost the election :’(

“If China WANTS to hold onto Tibet it will do so…”
How about this: let’s find a way to make China not want to hold onto Tibet.

Well, as you ask, how about this for plan. We could start sending aid, intelligence and weapons to a small but dedicated group of young radicals so they might fight a masterful guerilla campaign against the Chinese. The West will praise these “brave and righteous defenders of liberty and democracy” and the civilised world will unite behind them. Within a matter of years China will be forced to pull out under massive political and military pressure. The radicals will be left in charge, having achieved their goal of liberty from the oriental despots and we will shower praise on them. Then, maybe, a few years later, we will hear stories of brutality, whispers of tyranny, refugees will warn us that maybe these radicals are not to be trusted. But no, we will say, these are our tusted allies, stout defenders of liberty and democracy. We will continue to labour under this delusion, tacitly ignoring the supposed atrocities commited in the country, right up until the time when one of the radicals uses Western training and equipment to launch a major terrorist attack in the West…

If it comes down to military we could take Tibet all hands down. However, we would be in a load of crap with the U.N. so I agree with buck (I am assuming admin is Buck) mabye we can drop a swarm of locus on Tibet, in worked in the Bible.
