THE RUSH AMENDMENT

What is it about Rush LImbaugh that drives liberals crazy? It’s the fact that people listen to him. Rush describes himself as the most dangerous man in America and to liberals he is, because people listen to him. Recently several Democrats took the floor in congress to denounce Rush for calling American soldiers, phony soldiers. The only problem with their protestations was the truth. Rush never called American soldiers, phony soldiers. He referred to one soldier, Jesse MacBeth, as a phony soldier. This is the same Jesse MacBeth who claimed to be a decorated corporal in the Army Rangers, suffering from PTSD after tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. He claimed to witness muslim bodies hung from rafters by U.S. soldiers, the murder of innocent civilians in Iraq. Most importantly, Jesse MacBeth claimed to be an a member of the military who was fed up with our policy in Iraq and fed up with George Bush. Liberals lauded him for his courage to speak truth to power. Just one problem. He’s a liar.

Jesse MacBeth never went overseas. He never saw action. In fact, he never made it out of boot camp. After 44 days of service, he washed out. But why should those facts get in the way of good story.

So the liberal media and a few blowhards on Capitol Hill, like Sen. Tom Harkin, ignore the facts and call Rush Limbaugh the bad guy. The floor of the United States Senate, the C-SPAN cameras, used to attack a radio talkshow host.

Why not introduce an amendment to the constitution? Let’s call it the Rush Amendment. It will be designed to counteract the flawed freedom of the First Amendment right to free speech. Al Gore will tell you, our founding fathers never envisioned Rush Limbaugh so how could they have possibly written the constition to address his incredible influence. Burning the flag is mere pyrotechnic child’s play compared to the searing commentary from the tounge of Rush Limbaugh. HE MUST BE SILENCED!

The 28th Amendment to the Constituion: Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, unless it’s Rush Limbaugh. There that should do it.
Of course I also think we need to do some research to see if extended use of Oxycontin can give an individual super-powers. Maybe the 29th Amendment could be….

  1. what about the moveon.org resolution? what about general hunt saying the current generals are betraying us? buck makes the same arguments for protecting rush as liberals make defending moveon.org.

rush has said so many disparaging things that its about time someone did something. look what he said about michael j fox. if anyone is a blowhard, its rush. he didn’t even serve in the military.

  2. Rush is just a shock-jock. He is always so over the top that no one takes anything that he says seriously. But he is amazingly successful financially, especially considering that reputable businesses don’t want to sponsor his show. he makes his living off of the shady disreputable businesses.

  3. Hey OtherSide,
Did you actually read my post or just see the word Rush and start seething? I’m not trying to protect Rush. He doesn’t need it. The point I’m making is two-fold. Number one, Rush Limbaugh is a radio host, not a tax exempt Political Action Committee like MoveOn.org, and attacking him is assinine politics on from elected liberals. Number two, Rush’s attackers are either lying or ignorant of the facts. They claim to want to pass some kind of legislation over something Rush NEVER SAID. You’re mention of the Michael J. Fox item is interesting too, since that was another left-media falsehood passed on as fact. The net-video of Rush moving for a second that was looped to make him look like he was jerking around mocking Michael J. Fox was just more lying liberal pablum for people like you. The truth be damned….and speaking of truth…

Hey Nuts, if nobody takes Rush seriously, how come he has the largest radio audience in history? Here is a list of some of the shady, disreputable business that advertise on Rush Limbaugh…Oreck Vaccum Cleaners, OnStar, Autozone, Red Lobster Restaurants, Lumber Liquidators, Bose Wave Radios, Radio Shack, ScottTrade…I wonder if any of these disreputable companies are on CNN?

  4. Look, the deal with Rush is as simple as can be. If you don’t agree with him completely, his goal is to destroy you. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done. He sees the world in black and white, no fuzzy boundaries. If he judges you to not be on his side of the line he will stop at nothing in his attempt to destroy you. He is like a caricature of Nietzsche’s uberman, the Will to Power unleashed. But at least you know his stitch and he is easily dismissed if what you really want to engage in is rational fair-minded discussion.

  5. Neither of you bozo know what you are talking about.
You guys can handle the truth. You would rather believe the lies of Move On and Media Matters. I little research on your part would you prove you wrong. He has the best sponsors and they stand behind him.

  6. The delicious thing about the Rush scandal is that he has built his entire career on quoting his opponents out of context and showing no mercy while distorting their positions tortuously.

Kurt, if you consider advertisers for hair growing products reputable and other fake cures for various maladies, predatory lenders, and other flim flam joints to be reputable businesses, I have a cure for retardation that I want to sell you.

  7. Buck,
Two things cause Rush to have a large audience. One, the smart people who listen to him (probably the minority of his audience) listen because they can’t resist laughing at how he twists reality to fit his misperceptions of the world. And then there is the large group of absolute idiots who actually believe the fool.

  8. Buck,
CNN sucks too, by the way.

  9. Buck,
Look at that list of companies that you posted. They are all second- or third-rate operations, at best. Red Lobster? You would eat that shit?

  10. rush never mentioned Jesse MacBeth before saying “phony soldiers”. rush may have been thinking about him, but the context to which the conversation was based was about soldiers who are against the war. rush then said “phony soldiers” which is where the controversy is. it doesn’t matter if rush meant to equate the two or he just didn’t think before speaking, the words came out of his mouth.

he is still at it, now equating a soldier, brian mcgough, with a suicide bomber. “lying to him about what (rush) said, then strapping those lies to his belt sending him out via the media in a tv ad so he can walk into as many people as he can.” (his actual words) rush seems to think that mcgough didn’t hear the ad and cannot think for himself.

rush cannot even think that he made a mistake. so he goes on the offense. the best defense is a strong offense i guess. but even rush cannot fully defend himself so he gets his bosses to protect him from the radio votevets ad. he also won’t talk to any members of votevets.org, or brian mcgough. for a guy who is so verbally “in your face”, his actions paint him as a weak crybaby.

  11. it seems to be easier to attack someone than to defend bush’s policy for war. all of this partisan smearing is diverting attention away from a terrible war strategy.

  12. rush is incapable of debating. He is all hot air. No substance.

  13. I love Red Lobster. My daughter works there. Largest chain of seafood restaurants in the world. Yeah, what a bunch of idiots.

Oreck is one of the top manufacturers in the cleaning equipment industry. They have one of the most modern manufacturing facilities in the world on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and as private company they’ve contributed in many ways to the post-Katrina ressurection of the Gulf Coast economy. What a bunch of turds.

  14. But Buck, the food sucks at Red Lobster. I am sorry if you like shitty food. But you should try good food some time. Next time you are there ask them what they put in the crab meat. Hint: It ain’t crab!
Being a large restraunt chain doesn’t mean that the company produces quality. Most of our biggest companies produce crap. The best quality is rarely the most popular among the masses of idiots who populate this country. You don’t have to be too smart to create a chain of shit-quality stuff that the stupid people will suck up like it is ambrosia. In fact, sometimes the shittier it is, the more they like it (Bush was once popular too, remember?). Also, remember that half of the people are average or below. They are particularly susceptible to the Rush types too.

Oreck I don’t know much about.

  15. Buck,
If you eat at Red Lobster regularly you might want to go ahead and schedule your angioplasty.

  16. Want to make some serious money? Open a chain of vomitoriums next to Red Lobsters nation wide.

  17. Want to know why won’t Rush ever appear in public to directly debate the people he trashes from the safety of his sound booth? I remember when David Letterman, a mere comedian, crushed Rush, the big political guru, on ten different political issues during a rare Rush appearance on an entertainment show. I would love to see Jon Stewart or Bill Maher interview Rush. But it won’t happen because Rush knows that they would slice through Rush’s tangled web of tortured logic so fast that all you Rush lovers would have to admit that the Emperor of talk conservative talk radio has no clothes. Rush sticks with radio because he needs to have his hand on the “silence” button at all times or else he would soil himself daily. You would think that since his screener only lets callers through if they are proven ditto-heads or if they are blithering idiots (usually they both) he wouldn’t need the silence button - but it’s still one of his addictions.

  18. Hey nuts, its been a while…I do agree with you on rush not being able to debate…but neither are you…you depend on your abilities to attack people personally. He dosent he just yells.

  19. Honestly, Limbaugh and O’Reilly are the worst things to happen to Republicans in a long time. Look at Hannity and Colmes–let there be a real debate, let the truth win out, and we usually win. Limbaugh and O’Reilly are just bullies and blow hards that like hearing themselves, hate to be wrong, and make every Republican look bad by agreeing with us.

  20. now, instead of insulting adults, rush is making fun of kids. he mocked graeme frost, the kid who said the democrat response about schip, on hannity and colmes. the kid was in a horrible accident and still has a paralyzed vocal cord. i think rush has finally gone mental because of the country shifting left and his marginalization.

  21. Have you noticed how the liberals on this post change “what they mean” every time they are succesfully contradicted?

    It’s sad.
