I am really getting sick and tired of hearing about the Illegal immigrant situation in this country. This is my country, I was born and raised here and not in some other country whose government is not capable of taking care of its own inhabitants.(well at least I am an American!) But anyhow ,If you were born in another country and you come here illegally then you have no legal right to demand anything what so ever of my country, What you need to do is,Go home and protest there for jobs and better living conditions! Because your situation will never change for the better until the people do something about it themselves. Did anyone ever figure that out!
Yes, The real problem is not in America. It is in the other countries,who’s citizens are living in poverty and under oppression and decide to come here to make a new life.Thats the plain facts and its that simple. So when someone comes into my country demanding to stay and work here with out the proper protocol (It’s called a work visa.),Then I would say, that person is out of their mind and I don’t want their kind here. And when I say their kind, I am not generalizing on any one specific race or ethnic group , I am talking about anyone in general,who is in this country illegally and thinks that this country owes them something. This kind of thinking is totally unreasonable and is a direct result of desperation and irrational behavior. It is not my fault that their government might be corrupt or cant provide for it’s people (sound familiar) Or that the crime rate is out of control( I’m on a roll). You see, I am working at a job that does not provide any health coverage benefits what so ever, and I don’t get any free medical care. So I can’t afford to get sick….and I mean that literally. I am 55 and I have been working for the past 12 years part time as an art teacher. I suffered from a ruptured disk in my lower back about 15 years ago. I tried to get free medical attention and was denied. so I went for years with chronic back pain. I was taking pain pills and muscle relaxers which did more harm than good. I eventually got off them but,I then turned to marijuana and alcohol. Which believe it or not worked wonders. So I had to fend for myself because of my lack of insurance, and I still am. I earn about $14,000 a year and I simply can’t afford to go to the doctor or see a dentist.
(As a matter of fact, I am still paying on a overly charged medical bill of better than $3.000 from an emergency room visit from over two years ago, But thats another story..)
So you see, not all Americans are sitting on easy street. We can do the jobs that immigrants do, But there are some people that don’t want to do that kind of work, what ever it may be.That is their right, And if someone wants to out source those jobs that is their right, as long as they go through the proper channels and do it legally. Because the one underlying problem in this country, are the greedy, unscrupulous employers who take advantage of these people in the guise of pretending to be helping them out.
And I know this to be very true,being that I had worked in an orange grove picking oranges, many many years ago and I know it is a hard way to make a living. But, the fact remaining is,illegal immigrants are exactly that! Illegal…….Consider this, If you are a citizen of this country and you do something illegal,then you stand a great chance of forfeiting your rights and facing incarceration and or fines which could affect ones livelihood,not to mention losing everything you own. Its what they call the law. This should also apply to anyone who enters this country illegally as well. I would like to know why is it?! That this is so hard for anyone to understand! As far as I’m concerned, it’s non-debatable.
So….! when you come here to America with out a visa, in search the American dream, so to speak! I say! kick your ass out now! But if you do it legally and not have such a belligerent attitude, Then I have no problem, As long as you pay the same taxes as me and pay for your own medical care as everyone else does. Because when you come over here and march around and protest like it should mean something to the American people,all you are doing is insulting us! AND I am not alone in feeling this way!

It is so to speak that they invaded and trespassed and invaded the natives that were living on this land. It is so to speak that illegal immigrants are the least of our worries. I have a friend who’s identity was stolen and it took her over two years to get her situation straitened out. Its now been over five years since the incident and they have not caught the perpetrator as of yet, and yes the authorities have suspicion that this person is from south of the border. It is estimated that their presence is now known in at least 33 states with an estimate of 8 to 10 thousand nation wide.Do you want these guys as neighbors. If so, Then I question your upbringing and your incestors, Talk about your weird parents!
And I hope that some day you experience a long and painful disability and then have no way of getting any medical attention because of the system is busy giving away free medical attention to the 11 Plus million illegals, but then denies you any help what so ever.And if you think that you have enough health insurance that will cover any unforeseen problem that may arise in the future,Then you had better think again. because most policies have limitations and cut off dates if you should become long time or permanently disabled. Then go out and just try and find a decent paying job with a disability! You will be lucky to land a job as a Wallmart greeter. As far as making a crap income as you call it, I think that a lot of people in this country could live on a lot less income if they were more frugal and less picky about the clothes they wear and the cars they drive. I actually have a nice home with a low mortgage and a decent auto and money in the bank and a credit rating of 850, they don’t go any higher than that. The secret to living wealthy is not having a large income,because with most people who have large incomes also have large debts, and if the bottom should fall out! These people end up in financial trouble and fall into bankruptcy and so on, And why? Because they spent more money than they make on non-essential items and luxuries. So if you still think that illegal emigration is no big deal then I suggest you go back and finish high school and this time pay attention! And while you are at it get some treatment for your A.D.D. The crud about the long ago past by some idiot posters is ridiculous. You could extrapolate it back to ancient Europe and Africa. But in the nearer past, yes many of our forefathers immigrated to a country - the United States of America. But they didn’t get welfare, they didn’t get free childbirth in hospitals, they didn’t get welfare, foodstamps etc - but more importantly: They didn’t violate laws.
Anyone, illegal or not, using a false ID or someone else’s ID to get a job in the US has comitted a felony. Doesn’t anyone get that? A felony is in most states punishable by a minimum of one year in prison. Under this definition, the US has millions of illegal immigrant felons. What country in its right mind wants to keep a bunch of illegal immigrants who have shown they are willing to violate its laws and commit felonies?
Furthermore, illegals free use of the US’s medical, welfare, educational and other services amounts to nothing but theft. Its a simple license to steal from American taxpayers. Its an incredibly massive theft. Then one can talk about the effect large uncontrolled influxes into American communities of predominately poorer people. The entire infrastructure of these communities is stressed due to rapid grow of services but without a corresponding increase in tax revenues. This is happening in communities throughout the US. The previous model of internal movement and birth based growth has been thrown out the window. This is not sustainable.

But it seems that anymore,the laws that are written and rules that are set aside as guidelines for society are nothing more than meaningless words on paper that have no real value unless they can be used to the advantage of some high price lawyer or big businesses or political organization who’s objective is to gain wealth and power.It is very easy these days to bend the laws and change the meaning of what is said just by changing a single word in a written legal document.
President Bush had done this with the Coal mining industry, He merely exchanged the word waste for fill in a regulation that was written to keep mining waste out of clean water resources, changing the word waste for fill granted the coal mining industry permission to dump their waste (which was changed to fill) where they pleased .This happens quite often and its going to keep on happening because of our ever changing judicial system and self serving legislators that seem to create new laws and regulations on a mere whim. I know that this has nothing to do with Illegal emigrants , but it just shows you how the laws of today are not going to be the same laws of tomorrow .So imagine this..If the powers that be were to pass a law that said hey! Everybody can emigrate legally! as long as you are wearing blue shoes when crossing the border Then the American people would not have any recourse but to accept that law and we would be expected to abide by it for what it is! The law! ( Theres that word again). Even though it would piss a lot of people off. So why cant anyone accept the emigration laws and why we have them. In a nutshell! It’s to help keep our country secure . I hope that helps to clear things up. I am going to quit for now and go out side and have a beer on the patio, while its still legal.

The solution to the emigration question seems obvious to me: fine the hell out of employers who hire undocumented workers. The undocumented work force is here in part because our economic system handsomely rewards those who will employ them. They provide an extremely cheap labor force, employers want to maximize their profits, and consumers want cheap goods and services. Everybody is happy.
Many of us are willing to let most anything slip by as long as we can obtain the goods and services that we want for low prices. It is the same principle that makes WalMart successful financially. Unconsciousness! You may not know this but when you shop at Wal Mart you are directly funding the massive build up of the Chinese military. The lure is the cheap prices, but the long-term effects are a massive Chinese military, diminished American manufacturing capacity, and no home town stores where the employees actually know anything about the products they are selling. It really is pathetic what we will do to keep our supply of cheap junk flowing into our homes. But in truth, every purchase we make is a moral decision, whether we are aware of the consequences of our actions or not.

I find your standpoint 100% right on– while people might wine “well…ummm, like in their countries, there’s no food… and stuff, and like….. umm….. the U.S. should share their wealth (don’t even get me started there) with the less fortunate…” we as Americans, although sometimes arrogant, cherish and take pride in our worldly standpoint, and many don’t realize all that we do for the world. And, furthermore, in our position, I’m positive these illegal immigrants would take the same standpoint that we have taken. This is our country. What they are doing is simply illegal, and one of the reasons that immigrants come to our country is to take advantage of the fair legal system, so how can they expect to be treated with respect when they are causing corruption here? They are BREAKING THE LAW; many do not emphasize this point enough.

the one last policy that would have salvaged some positive in bush’s misserable administration was defeated by his own party. bush used to be the governor of texas, so he knew illegal immigration. but apparently the republicans are too stubborn to change what is already broken and make compromises to benefit america.
i know that, to some, the twelve million illegal immigrants are unnacceptable. i agree. but political reality is being trumped by political ideology. what are we going to do, deport every illegal immigrant? thats not possible. so instead of trying to remedy the situation, republicans chose to do nothing. thats unnacceptable because there may not be any other debate on illegal immigration for a long time.
getting stuck on the legalities of the situation is not going to change anything. immigration is a complex issue that needs a complex bipartisan solution. this congress tried to find some common groud, but an angry minority destroyed that. i hope republicans are happy with the current immigration, because its here to stay.

Bush left no question today about where he stands on the “All men are created equal” notion and the rule of law. He commuted the sentence of a man who was convicted by a jury, based on overwhelming evidence (as the judge put it) and a sentence handed down by a conservative judge in a case in which an undercover CIA operative was outed by multiple administration officials. The case could not be prosecuted as originally intended because Scooter threw “sand in the eyes of justice with a series of false and misleading statements designed to subvert the investigation.” The president rewarded his pal Scooter for subverting justice by subverting justice again. It is a travesty to everyone who truly understands the case (ignore the misinformation put out by the conservative media and you can start to understand the truth of the case).
