A LETTER FROM IRAQ
I recieved this in my email today. I cannot vouch for it’s authenticity because I do not know the young man who wrote or if he is even real. You be the judge.
Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to
pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an
hour on his visit to “The War Zone”. I wanted to share with you what
happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to
the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander
here at Bagram.
As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them
off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet
the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell
(pretth much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball
or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures
playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to
Soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the American’s
back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you
are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would
thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for
you.
I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or
the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants
to be the President of the United States . I just don’t understand how
anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that
he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and
our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you
all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see
in the news is all fake.

obama was prevented from seeing injured troops at luhnshtul because the pentagon prevents political campaigns from visiting troops. they legitimetly want to avoid candidates from exploited injured soldiers. obama has millions of donors and has energized a large base of supporters. he just spoke to 200,000 people in germany.
buck points out the caveat that he doesn’t know if this letter is authentic. also, who knows what partisian eyes are seeing this benavior. could blowing “them off and didn’t say a word” or shunning “the opportunity to talk to soldiers to thank them for their service” be the military protecting obama from danger. people went crazy when obama apparently refused to fist bump a little kid but it turned out to be a mistake. this reaks of desperation from the right because obama is doing so well and mccain is floundering.

Obama simply made this trip for the photo-ops. He does not care at all about our military!
To tell you the truth, Obama cares about nothing but his main goal of becoming the President of the United States of America! He will do what ever, no matter the cost, to achieve his main goal.
Obama is anti-American and has “changes” he wants to make to our great nation. But the “changes” he wants to make are not in America’s best interest.
Obama is fooling the gullable, the young, the uneducated, and the poor to get the votes he needs. He has no intention of helping these people.

I read the Snopes account of this email. #1. It is definately a real letter, written by a real Army officer.
#2 If you read the entire account the officer who wrote the letter doesn’t recant anything he said. He is just covering his but because his superiors came down on him.
You don’t need this letter to know that Obama had only his political interests in mind during his overseas trip.
His biggest snub is refusing to acknowledge that the surge has been successful and that American troops, including Petraeus, are largely responsible.

i don’t see anywhere in the article provided rebelrose where it said obama canceled because he couldn’t get the photo-ops, except from the response from the mccain campaign. this is an example of the desperation from the un-hinged right wing who are increasing dis-satisfied with their nominee. no matter what obama did, he was going to get attacked. if he went he exploited the troops. if he didn’t go, he snubbed the troops. ironically, the mccain campaign are the ones who are exploiting the troops. they are using them as props to attack obama.
the mccain campaign, and their supporters are going on the offensive because that’s all they have left. with all of the recent mccain gaffes and the fact that mccain is on the wrong side of every issue, why would the mccain campaign run a clean campaign? they also are banking on the media favorably portraying mccain and negatively portraying obama, look at the recent independent study by the center for media and public affairs at george mason university. this strategy may have worked in the past, but today’s political climate is calling for solutions. and people are smarter than during previous elections.
