GOOD WILL, HUNTING FOR OBAMA.

Let’s all agree on one thing. Sarah Palin has caused quite a buzz in the presidential race. Nobody can dispute that. Everybody has an opinion about Palin and now one of the most distinguished political minds of our time is jumping into the fray.

Matt Damon!

I like Matt Damon, when he is pretending to be somebody else. The real Matt Damon I have a problem with, especially when he says something like what he says in this video clip.

Basically he said John McCain is probably gonna die, Sarah Palin is going to be president and she is crazy. All bible believing Christians are crzay. Being Govenor Alaska doesn’t qualify you for anything.

What a pompas ass! Every citizen of Alaska, every Christian, every Republican and every woman in America should be outraged by what this overpaid, selfagrandized, pampered, little elitist thinks about them.

What we didn’t hear Damon say was how he thinks Barack Obama is somehow more qualified than Palin to hold the office. Because he was a Harvard grad. That makes him smarter and more capable. Because he was an ineffectual short term member of the Illinois state legislature who voted present on practically every issue? Because he became the junior senator from Illinois and has barely worked on actual senate business for less than half a year?

What is it about Obama that would make him the better person to stare down Putin? Would he be using his folksy, homespun philosophies that he learned from his pastor?

Give us some contrast Matt. What makes being govenor of Alaska less qualifying that say, a senator from Delaware. Alaska is the largest state by size, bigger than Texas, California and Montana, combined. It has the 5th highest per capita income. It has the richest energy reserves of any state and is the only state that has borders with only foreign countries. Palin has probably already met and had a few beers with more Russians than all of the other candidates combined. True, it has a small population, about 650,000 people.

Let’s see, what states are smaller in population…Wyoming…home of Dick Cheney, current vice president. Vermont…who’s former govenor, Howard Dean ran for president and is now DNC chairman, North Dakota, then Alaska, then South Dakota and then….

Delaware, home of the current Democrat nominee for president, Joe Biden. It has a whopping 200,000 more people than Alaska. it is also the second smallest state in land mass.

So I’m confused Matt. Does size really matter?

You said picking Palin was an irresponsible political manuever. That’s actually the only thing you said that I agree with. Politically speaking, it was irresponsible. Most vice presidents are chosen because they can deliver electoral votes from their home state. That’s why most VP’s are from places like Ohio and Texas. But Sarah Palin was chosen for the mere politics of electoral votes she could bring. She was chosen for much loftier goals.

OIL: What other elected official has a better record for the challenges that are ahead with overhauling the oil industry? Palin knows the business inside out, has already engaged in reform and can bring a real working knowledge of the oil industry to the table when when a McCain administration prepares to tackle the runaway oil crisis.

REFORM: Palin is not a Republican party player. She is an outsider and you mark my words. She will be the McCain attack dog when it comes to ethics reform and cleaning out the pork barrel, runaway Washington tax and spend politicians. She doesn’t owe anybody any favors and her political ambitions are akin to our forefathers. Her calling is to serve then go back to be just plain Sarah.

REPUBLICAN PARTY: Say what you will about McCain vs. the GOP. By choosing Palin he has saved the Republican party from certain doom. Even if they don’t win the election, the Republican party is now breathing again. Hell, were sitting up and taking nourishment and we may even get up out of this wheel chair and walk!

Elitist snobs like Matt Damon think only the Ivy league class is qualified to be president. The truth is the best person for the job is the common man, or woman as the case may be. The one who can listen to the eggheads and ivy leaguers and make a common sense decision for the interest of all Americans.

On second thought…Good Will Hunting sucked.

  1. So….does HE think dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago? Where did that come from?? And, does believing or not believing that dinosaurs lived 4,000 years ago somehow make you qualified? I guess if there is ever a Jepardy challenge for control of the world with Putin, then we’re screwed! Obama would at least have the UN shut Russia down!

  2. you know if a canidate for president professed a belief in the teachings of Zeus or Odin he would be laughed off the stage why should professing a belief in the christian god be any different? And dont tell me its because that god is real you have no more proof that he exists than you do that Zeus or Odin does not exist/

  3. alaska is the largest state, IN LAND MASS. you admitted the population was small but just trivialized that even though its important. that fact goes to how complex her job was at governor, and it wasn’t nearly the experience needed to run for vice-president.

the list of politicians from smaller states is a pointless arguement. they had already established themselves as qualified based upon their life long political experiences. they are not comparable to palin.

bush was the every-man that people could relate to. and how did that work out? i think we need some intelligence in the white house to undo what bush has done.

  4. I am SICK TO DEATH of the Hollywood movie stars expressing their “opinions” about politics when they don’t even live in the REAL world! How many people do you know that make over a million dollars for a “season” of work…if you want to call it that? How many people do you know that have that much access to our liberal biased media? How many do you know that will NEVER have to work in a factory or struggle to put food on the table, but yet claim to be “one of the common folk”? Give me a break! I am disgusted by all of them! I say, we all send them a message…I certainly do…don’t go see their movies, don’t buy their books, don’t buy their CD/DVD’s! Boycott!

  5. the other side: Why don’t you read the book “The Case For Christ” it will prove to you in black and white that Jesus walked on this Earth, was who He said He was, AND that the bible is one of the MOST accurate records of history that we have. Don’t be a fool! I would be VERY careful when you start “making fun” of the Holy Spirit…something that you obviously know NOTHING about. I pray that your eyes and ears will be opened, my friend.

  6. Other Side says Palin isn’t qualified because she’s a politician from a small state, the dismisses the comparisons to other small state politicians as pointless. Puleeez!

Howard Dean is from a state smaller in size and population and he was your party’s candidate for president until started showing his true self.

FYI: Zack sent me an email with some interesting facts. As commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard, Palin commands the only National Guard Unit on permanent active duty status. As govenor of Alaska she is briefed on top secret military, security and homeland defense issues that even Barack Obama is not permitted to see.

Furthermore, Alaska provides 20% of the United States domestic energy needs. Between it’s strategic military importance and it’s role as a primary provider of oil and natural gas to the nation, Alaska is a pretty important state to run. Unless terrorist decide they need to sabotage the sap harvest in Vermont.

Democrats like you and Matt Damon are such hipocrits. You turn a blind eye to Barack Obama’s obvious lack of experience in any kind of leadership roll and throw daggers at Palin WHO IS A GOVENOR!!!

  7. using the size of the state a politician is from as the only meter to determine their qualifications is ludicrous. dean was the governor of vermont from 1991 to 2003. after his campaign he became the dnc chair in 2005 until the present. thats at least 17 years of experience for dean on the state and national stage. but all of that is meaningless because vermont is a small state? thats insane.

one of obama’s main assets is his ability to inspire people to act. thats what we need to initiate change. he is an ivy league graduate that has moved up the ranks to become a us senator. obama has run a successful campaign for 19 months and has learned a lot. he has been asked many questions and actually has answers (whats the bush doctrine again).

its not as easy as black and white. its not just the quantity of experience, its the quality of experience. obama didn’t have experience when he entered the race but has proven himself qualified enough to silence the “experience” argument. palin is being asked questions similar to obama about her experience. instead of answering them she is hiding and attacking those who want to know who she is.

here is the question that needs to be asked: what is it about executive experience makes it more qualifying that legislative experience? what can palin bring, using her executive experience, to the national stage?

  8. The thing that bothers me thr most about Obama and Biden is that they are both lawyers. Lawyers have done more to screw up this country than anyone else.
Also, any lawyer will tell you that as a lawyer he is an officer of the court. That means he part of the judicial system. The constitution says the three parts of the government are to be kept seperate. That tells me that a member of the judicial system connot hold office in the executive or legislative branches.

  9. The Other Side: I feel for you. I’ve done the same thing. Type something that turns out really stupid and accidentally hit “ENTER” when you meant to hit “DELETE”. You can retype something if you want to. Because, I KNOW you didn’t really mean to say that Obama has been running for President for 19 months, so…..that qualifies him to be one!
As for working his way up, he was elected to The ILL. Senate, got it by default, then started running for Senator. Got elected then started running for President. Ask Hillary about that one.

  10. All great societies are societies made of laws.
I agree that i see things that i don’t agree with when it comes to law, but look at countries without laws: Iraq, Somaia, Congo. etc… , If you’re looking for for utopia, lets smoke a joint, revisit the 60’s and blast anybody that would stand in our ignorant ways.
