Barack Obama’s campaign is rolling out a new line of what they call “Faith Merchandise”, novelties and clothing with slogans like, Believers for Barack. Here’s a couple more slogans he should try.
What Would Obama Do?
“I’m not Jesus, but I’m the next best thing.”
Hey since these are faith based products, can I have some and he can take it on faith that I’ll pay him for it later.
You “guess”? Watched Jon Stewart lately?
This is seriously the most hilarious site ever. All of these jokes are so terrible it has transcended terrible and went right back to funny. The comments are an added bonus! I guess there must not be many conservative comedians.
I gotta say thought, it is really funny/tragic when you compare the religious right to islamicist fanatics in the middle east. Really? When we disagree with your position, do we go blow up buildings filled with thousands of people? Do we call for the annihilation of you, your children and your entire neighborhood? Do we demand that the country you live in be wiped off the face of the planet? Do we set off bombs in public utilities, poison waterways, let noxious chemicals float through subways, hold shootouts in the street, or send letters filled with anthrax through the mail to random people?
How can you possibly say the religious right is NEARLY as dangerous as muslim terrorists? How dare you compare the hard-wroking God-fearing family men and women who want America to have a sense of decency to screaming, bomb-toting, hate-preaching Islamofascists?! How dare you. Show me the religious conservative who would level nations and hide ammunition and explosives in their own people’s houses. Show me the christian who would mass murder Jews for being Jews. Show me the american who
You cannot look me in the eye and say truthfully that we’re as dangerous as them.
They’re not “religious fanatics”. We just think that teenage girls should not be allowed to kill babies because it inconviniences them. And if people do vote for legalized abortion, is it so hard to ask that they at least get their parents’ permission?
We don’t like seeing marriage reduced to simple choices of, “shall we make it official?” We don’t like seeing our country degrade into allowing babies to lose their right to life, so we can preserve some rambunctious teens can prserve their “freedom of choice”.
Another thing, we’re against the FEDERAL government running our lives. The states and local cities have got a better idea of what we want. We don’t necessarily want a federal ban on abortion. We do want state bans, because those are what the founding fathers apporved. They didn’t want the state having a national religion like england. They had nothing against moral people being elected in state governments. Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Henry, all of them were upstanding Christian men. They went to church. Jefferson even described himself as a deply religious man.
“Abortions will happen whether it is legal or not”? What kind of crap is that?
Should we repeal laws against murder because “murders will happen whether it is legal or not”?
Shut up.
It’s not even about Obama it’s mainly how people force feed their religion on this planet to make people blindly follow their holy word. From Christians to Muslims they are a mirror image of each other, both fanatical and violent at times both justifing their sins in the name of their religion and faith. Stick to the issues because I am not buying into the religious ticket. I believe in God but I have lost my faith in religion especially when religion is being run by men who have their own motives, most not so holy!
It’s good to see that you think twenty years of Liberation Theology from Rev Wright disqualifies Obama. Now spread the word, Obama is a religious fanatic!!
have a wonderful day
Christians, Muslim extremist you guys sound the same. I should know I am a vet and seriously religion does not belong in politics, it’s exactly how the Muslim are brainwashing their people from using good common sense. I am sick of all religions, all people do is kill and die for their religions. Why is your religion better? Honestly, religious fanatics are what will destroy this planet.
I’m in my 30′s (so I’m not sure what “generation” you are referring too, the other side) and I believe abortion is murder AND what is worse, that it’s an innocent human being that has no voice. Think about yourself for instance, if your mother had chosen to abort YOU, how would that have impacted the people involved in your life? Ex: Your children (there wouldn’t be any), your friends (they wouldn’t know you), your spouse (they wouldn’t have a life partner), your career, your purpose. I believe that EVERYONE (no matter what circumstances to which they are born) is given life for a reason, if not only to impact others. This, to me, is worth getting “worked-up” over. Furthermore, there are many conservatives that aren’t necessarily “regligous” and believe this as well.
Putting all that aside, it’s extremely hypocritical for Obama and his followers to keep talking about their faith, or lack thereof, but, yet, when conservatives do, we’re “religious nuts”.
Kiwi, why doesn’t God belong in politics? For a person who claims to be a Christian, God should be involved in all of his decisions. If not, is he really a Christian?
Your reasoning for abortion is faulty. Women will go on having abortions as long as it is legal. Illegal abortions would prevent many women from getting one. Abortion is taking a human life, no matter how you look at it. Plain and simple. That’s what it is. And while I don’t necessarily think the government should make decisions that govern my body, I think someone needs to take the side of the unborn who are already alive and are murdered through no fault of their own.
As for comprehensive sex ed… whose version of comprehensive are we talking about? I want my children to get their scientific information via school, through health education, study of biology, that sort of thing, but their moral education is up to me, and not determined by some bureaucrat in the government. As a person whose career is in public education, I can tell you I don’t want any of our legislators determining what my children will be “taught” in a sex ed class. I want a say in that matter.
Thank you Other Side. You said it perfectly.
Tyra: The faith merchandise was a joke, you do realize that, right? Besides, telling people that you believe in God and forcing people to believe with you are two different things. Obama can go to whatever church he wants and be damn proud of it as long as he doesn’t impose his beliefs on the rest of the country.
i’ve never understood why conservatives get so riled up about abortion. maybe its a generational thing but getting so worked up over an issue seems counter productive. all mccain has to do is say abortion and a culture war is started.
also, why is it that people who are against abortion are also again comprehensive sexual education. doesn’t the latter help prevent the former? wouldn’t that solve a lot of problems?
but kiwi is right. abortions will happen no matter if its legal or not. furthermore, what happens to babies that are carried to full term by unfit parents? are they doomed to a terrible life? the argument is all about the medical procedure but what about the ramifications of children that are forced on unwilling parents?
its ironic that conservatives hate the government imposing its power in people’s decisions, except when that decision deals with religious views.

This is another example of Obama trying to play both sides. At one end he claims “I am not a Muslim” and tells the public about his Christian background. This his is attempt to be connecting with voters of faith, then he comes out with novelty clothing which is nothing more than a mockery of “faith” in general. This is an attempt to connect with the aesthetics on the left.
Actually, Kiwi, if Obama is bringing “faith” into his campaign then isn’t he guilty of bringing “religion” into politics? Point the finger at your own candidate.
Your take on abortion is vile. If your justification for abortion is “because women will just do it anyway”…then let’s just throw common sense, morals and ethics out the window. I mean, don’t most criminals in prison who rape women have a “good” explanation for why they did it? But, hey, they were just going to do it anyway, so why put them in jail, right?
With God aside for a moment (because he/she does not belong in politics), can you imagine what would happen if abortions weren’t legal? You see, women will abort children with or without a doctor if they choose to do so. I don’t believe abortion should be a form of birth control by any means but I also don’t want a bunch of old men in congress to make that private decision for me. Keeping first trimester abortions legal will keep women safe. The alternative could be a coat hanger. We need to teach safe sex in our schools and educate our children on how to prevent pregnancy so they are not left with this burden. Teach birth control and keep your rosaries off my ovaries.
It’s amazing to me that a person who voted twice for partial birth abortions calls himself a “man of faith”. Faith for what? Certainly not for unborn children. Here is what happens during a partial-birth abortion (which in most cases are 18-26 weeks gestation or older):
The abortionist delivers the baby’s entire body, except for the head. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby’s skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child’s brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
This is a man to whom the liberals are calling “Messiah”? My stomach churns to think that our world is that sick and perverse. I would be ashamed to even be associated with a PARTY that stood for such vile and evil practices.
My Jesus is FOR life. He shed His blood so we could have enternal life. WAKE UP!
