SARAH PALIN….WOW!

Sarah Palin now has a 50/50 chance of being the next Vice President of the United States. WOW!
What a pick!…What a candidate!…What a woman!….What a family.

I am so proud to be a Republican and a conservative. I am proud of John McCain for having the boldness and conviction to choose Palin. I am so proud of Sarah Palin and her family for accepting the challenge under circumstances they all knew would be trying and difficult.

I listened to her speech on NPR, watched on CSPAN later and read it again this morning. This is no shrinking violet and there is no need to rush to her defense, as the nattering nabobs did when Rick Lazio confronted poor Hillary. Mrs. Palin can fight her own fights, thank you very much, as evidenced by her speech last night. It was everything I hoped it would be.

She threw open the door for Obama, Biden and the media to come at her with guns a blazin but they should be warned…she’s packing heat too!

I said in a recent post that Palin added a new dynamic to the debate about Obama’s qualifications and so far that is playing out exactly like I hoped it would. Palin has a real track record as a mayor and a govenor. She’s got more executive government experience than any of the candidates. The contrast to Obama doesn’t eliminate the “is he qualified” debate, it highlights it. The bottom line is, our second on the ticket has more experience than your first. Brilliant.

All these so called controversies and baggage being “investigated” by the media and the blogosphere are doing nothing but solidifying the base and winning over new converts who look at Palin and see a person who has to deal with the same struggles in life they do.

Blog away you morons. Attack, attack!…It only serves to bring McCain closer to the presidency. And when you finally wake up and start talking issues, thats when you’ll really lose.

Sarah Palin…WOW!

  1. I, too, watched her last night on t.v. at the Republican National Convention. She was awesome! I loved her quick wit and biting humor…which the Dems definitely needed to be tossed their way. I hope Obama was watching and felt a little sting of shame from time-to-time. The liberal media are shaking in their boots! They haven’t been able to get any REAL dirt on her…so her 17 year old daughter is pregnant…is this the best they can do? I can’t wait until she debates Biden! Hope he packs some heat, because he’s going to need it.

As I watched, I felt so proud to be an American, a Republican, a Chrisitan and a woman. I kept thinking that she seems almost too good to be true! Hopefully, she will prove to be the real deal. Either way, she has brought hope back into my spirit…and for that, I am grateful!

  2. so palin supported the “bridge to nowhere” before opposing it. she has hired a lobbyist to bring $27 million to wasilla in earmarks. she sat on ted stevens’ 527 board along with being buds while campaigning. she is being investigated for abuse of power because she fired someone for not firing her ex-brother in law. she thinks global warming is a hoax. she wants to ban books from libraries. she withholds money for comprehensive sex ed then her teenage daughter gets pregnant. her speech at the convention was pre-written for any possible vp pick.

this “reformer” meme is going to be blown to peices once her record is exposed. thats why the mccain campaign is calling foul against the media, they’re scared. no matter how you spin it (alaska is the largest state or she has more executive experience than obama), palin is a detriment to the mccain campaign. where does she stand on iraq? healthcare? the economy? is it along the republican lines? what does being outside of washington have to do with changing washington? this is pure desperation.

  3. you are totally right, for the first time in my life i am proud to be a republican…:)

just came across your blog from stumbleupon and have it bookmarked now. love it!

  4. Chris,
Thanks for joining our discussion. We look forward to having a lot of fun during this election.

    Otherside,
You can’t be serious? You must go read the Daily Kos, then come blog here. You should watch some TV or read a newspaper. Palinmania is sweeping the country. People love her. She has popularity and favorability ratings better than Obama and McCain. Your little littany of charges about her record is the narrative for the liberal media between now and the election and it’s poppycock. A bunch of nothing. The more she is looked at the better she looks….Time will tell.

  5. if she has such a biting wit, then why isn’t the mccain campaign allowing her to be interviewed? her speech was prepared for any candidate and was altered to fit the palin pick. more has and will come out about her and her far-right ideology.

  6. she is exciting and new but still needs to be vetted. palin is an excuse for the media to not talk about the issues. now they are talking about the candidates’ personalities as a test for who should be in office (it failed as a measure of bush’s compitence). whenever people talk about the issues, mccain is on the wrong side so the mccain campaign’s strategy is to divert attention from real issues. we cannot have another campaign where the question “who would you rather have a beer with” is asked.

  7. Please explain where McCain “is on the wrong side” of the issues. I would like to know what you think is the “right” side? Thank you.

  8. I can’t believe people are falling for Palin. She was the mayor of a town of only 5,000 people and governed a state with a population less than 680,000. Not to mention she’s being investigated for abuse of power… this is NOT liberal propaganda! She IS being investigated! When will people open their eyes? Sure she’s young, beautiful, fresh, and new…what the hell does that have to do with her potentially RUNNING OUR COUNTRY? This is not a popularity contest this is the future of our country and we need to take it seriously. Everyone fell for her before they even knew anything about her.

What kind of experience does she have? Where does she stand on the issues? What exactly do we know about her? Would she make a good vice president? Would she make a good president if she needed to step in?

Look up anything The Other Side has to say about her. It’s all true. Or you can go here http://www.zimbio.com/Sarah+Palin/articles/565/Anne+Kilkenny+Alaska+Email

  9. Okay, just substitute some words and you have…

I can’t believe people are falling for Obama. He was the organizer of a community of only 5,000 people and did not govern a state.

When will people open their eyes? Sure He’s young, beautiful, fresh, and new…what the hell does that have to do with his potentially RUNNING OUR COUNTRY? This is not a popularity contest this is the future of our country and we need to take it seriously. Everyone fell for him before they even knew anything about him.

What kind of experience does he have? Where does he stand on the issues? What exactly do we know about him? Would he make a good president?

  10. I was all cocked and loaded to respond to KIWI and then “The Palin Truth” lays the smack down for me. Here’s my take anyway.

She was a mayor of a small town. That alone gives her more executive experience than Obama, Biden and even McCain put togther. Remember KIWI, the only thing Obama has ever had to do is vote yes or no with dozens of other congressmen and he even shirked that responsibility by voting “present” or abstaining more than he ever voted yes or no. THAT IS NOT CONSERVATIVE PROPAGANDA, THAT IS A FACT.

She is Govenor of Alaska. Let me repeat that. She is GOVENOR OF ALASKA. Howard Dean was Govenor of Vermont, a smaller state in size and population and signifigantly less important in terms of our national defense, energy and resources.

She is being investigated, but by whom and to what end? First and foremost the controversy is about the legitimacy of the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, who by the way, serves solely at the pleasure of the Govenor and can be dismissed by the Govenor at any time. So in spite of all the hubub, there is only one purpose for the investigation, political ambush. The investigation is being led by the Democrats in the Alaska Senate Judiciary committee. Hollis French, Democrat in charge of the investigation promised an “October surprise”, his words. That’s politics pure and simple.

Sarah Palin is not running for President, she is running for Vice President and yes, I instantly fell in love with her as a candidate. I also instantly, as you can read in my posts made here at that time, I instantly felt that McCain pick Palin, not just because she was a woman, but because she wasn’t beholdin’ to any of the Washington special interests, the old Republican guard, and certainly not the Washington lobbiest, especially the oil lobby. I still believe that McCain will give Palin the job of cleaning up earmarks and pork-barrel politics.

She has as much or more experience than Obama who is first on Democrat ticket. She is out telling America everyday where she stands on the issues and her past record and future debates will tell even more. What exactly do we know about her? As much if not vastly more than Barack Obama.

Your last two questions cannot be answered about any of the candidates with 100% certainty. And as far as The Other Side is concerned, Puleeeez!

  11. palin isn’t “telling America everyday where she stands on the issues and her past record”, she’s reading mccain campaign talking points and lying.

“troopergate” was unanimously voted on in the alaska legislature and the subpoenas were voted three-two with the deciding vote being cast by a republican. this whole “democratic ambush” meme is patently false. could it be that all of the hubub is actually making things worse for palin? if the investigation was able to continue, worst case scenerio is she would be found guilty but loved because she protected her sister. best case scenerio is she’s exonerated and then republicans could whine all they want. but by using bush, secrecy tactics it makes it look like she’s hiding something. why did the campaign hire a former high ranking terrorism lawyer to oversee this case? why is the mccain campaign talking about this case instead of a palin or alaskan spokesperson?

the more that comes out the more palin looks like another bushesque leader. just wait until the media (hopefully) discusses palin’s witchhunter pastor.
