DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I SHOOT

State Senator R.C. Soles (D – NC) Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician’s home county said.

The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus , Bladen and Brunswick counties..

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.
“I am not in a position to talk to you,” Soles said by telephone. “I’m right in the middle of an investigation.”

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn’t hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the “Do as i say and not as i do” Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.
It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine.
But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

great point ‘always right.’ you are showing once again the intelligence of the far right wing. keep it up.

  2. Always Right says:

Other side: because Dims are wrong, that’s why! And have been extreme left since McGovern in 72. Liberalism was long ago taken over by leftism.

  3. The Other Side says:

sorry to see you go castor, but i guess defending your views got to be too much work…with all the contradictions and hypocrasy.

and zach, bush’s policies led to the current economy. that’s a fact.

i’ll ask again, why are democrats the only party that are forced to balance the budget? and why do tea partiers only care about the budget when a democrat is in charge?

  4. Zack says:

Ummm….how did this get to blaming Bush, AGAIN??

  5. Castor says:

Really, other side? I posted that in may and you wanna debate now? Sorry dude, moved on. To hell with this blog crap, I got a friggin job. Just checked this site for damage control.

Hope you and allan have fun.

    Hugs and punches,
    – Caz

the bush crew was on more stations than fox news…you know, abc, nbc and cbs, and they were talking about how torture worked. but if you weren’t even paying attention after bin laden was killed, then how could you talk about the issue? debating an issue without any information must be a tea party thing.

but that ignorance explains your next few points and why you don’t have any facts to back up your statements. if you did have any facts, they would show that democrats have caved on many things, namely the bush tax cuts and not having any single payer health care in the aca. and you would also find that republicans have used an unprecidented amount of filibusters while they were in the minority. filibusters are used to slow down debate on issues…which is exactly what happened. so democrats are blaming republicans for being slow, because they are stopping all debates on issues.

and how are democrats extreme left? please let me know and don’t call them extreme without any examples. and why is it okay for republicans to be extreme but not liberals?

not raising the debt ceiling will criple the world’s economy. it needs to be raised. the democrats are standing firm on the debt ceiling because the republicans are proposing draconian budget cuts…that will significantly hurt the middle class.

finally, why do democrats need to be the ones to balance the budget when its republicans who cause the most debt? thats whats so frustrating, democrats are having to do the work that was caused by republicans. and then there are people like alan who still think that democrats are the ones causing the problems.

  7. Alan says:

*Facepalm* You realize there’s more than just Fox News, right?

“where were you the weekend after bin laden was killed? every news channel on sunday had cheney, rumsfeld, rove, rice et al trying to rewrite history about TORTURE! ”

The hell are you talking about here?

“also, alan, if you actually believe that bipartisianship is a ploy to make republicans look bad, why is it only democrats who make any concessions? i know you’ll say ‘well republicans are standing on principle.’ well so are democrats. so why isn’t it that they both meet in the middle instead of meeting right of center? its not always a conspiracy like glenn beck would have you believe. for republicans to hold america hostage for tax cuts and not raising the debt ceiling is irresponsible.”

    1. Democrats don’t make concessions either, and just blame Republicans for slow progress.

    2. Democrats aren’t trying to meet in the middle, or even left of the center, they want to meet on the far left at least, but preferably the extreme.

    3. I don’t watch Glenn Beck.

    4. Do you really think it’s wise to raise the debt ceiling? If it’s causing such a hostage situation, why wouldn’t Democrats just drop it to move on to more important things, and why do Democrats tie so much into one bill, like the Stimulus Bill we all remember. It’s as much the Democrats fault as the Republicans.

  8. The Other Side says:

fox news wasn’t for bush? really? i’ll give you that the entire media, not just fox news, failed to hold the bush administration accountable for iraq and other issues. but to say that fox never supported bush is fantasy. for instance, why is it that when liberals questioned or were critical of bush, it was un-american to fox news? i remember the talkers on fox news protecting bush from any criticism.

and alan, where were you the weekend after bin laden was killed? every news channel on sunday had cheney, rumsfeld, rove, rice et al trying to rewrite history about TORTURE!

also, alan, if you actually believe that bipartisianship is a ploy to make republicans look bad, why is it only democrats who make any concessions? i know you’ll say ‘well republicans are standing on principle.’ well so are democrats. so why isn’t it that they both meet in the middle instead of meeting right of center? its not always a conspiracy like glenn beck would have you believe. for republicans to hold america hostage for tax cuts and not raising the debt ceiling is irresponsible.

castor, do you blame rich corporations, unnecessary war, tax cuts that don’t produce jobs or control debt, guns, poverty, underfunded schools, racism or prejudice for anything? corporations do more negative things to america than taxes, health care (we don’t have universal health care), amnesty (which isn’t anything right now) and well-fare (why are people poor?). but you’ll still blindly advocate for tax cuts which will skyrocket the debt and screw america more than anything you just mentioned.

  9. Alan says:

Wait… “would a liberal media allow the most of the bush administration fill the air ways to defend torture and take credit the week bin laden was killed?” When did this happen?

“would a liberal media ALWAYS err on the side of bipartisianship instead of calling out republicans for their draconian and unreasonable demands?”
Bipartisanship is a ploy to make republicans look bad. It’s much like saying, “See, we want to compromise by forcing republicans to do what we want but they say no because they don’t believe it!”

  10. Castor says:

I agree, the media is an easy scapegoat. But I never said that I blame them for everything. I blame taxes, amnesty, universal healthcare, and well-fare for everything.
I’m just sayin that the libral media stations support obama in everything his administration does. Fox news is the exception because its far more conservative than msnbc, cnn, and such, thats why they bring many aspects of libralism to question.
Fox news didnt do that for bush either. The enhanced interrogation was supported because we wanted information on terrorist activities.

  11. The Other Side says:

so ok, my bad on the first part of my response.

but can you deny the points i made in the second part where i outlined some recent examples of how the media doesn’t blindly support liberals?

how does the media favor liberals anymore?

  12. Castor says:

No, dude. I meant the media supports the liberals. Not the liberals support the media. Liberals listen to the left wing media but whatever.

    Read closer next time.

  13. The Other Side says:

i don’t blindly support the media…its a corprate owned medium that does whatever their masters want. liberals are very much against the media and the crap it allows.

if you want to keep blaming the media for everything…go ahead. thats an easy scapegoat. but the media is far from liberal anymore. would a liberal media allow the most of the bush administration fill the air ways to defend torture and take credit the week bin laden was killed? would a liberal media allow john mccain to throw a hissy fit for losing the last election? would a liberal media ALWAYS err on the side of bipartisianship instead of calling out republicans for their draconian and unreasonable demands?

  14. Castor says:

Except the difference between conservatives and librals are is that the libs have the blind support of the media, aside from fox news.

  15. The Other Side says:

wow, richard wagener. i could basically say the same thing about republicans. every single point can be said about conservatives. this is what our politics has become.

  16. richard wagener says:

Typical Liberal Behavior. They are all the same. They are the elite who are not bound by anything we average, sub average citizens are. What gets me is their arrogance. They really things that sll their rules and regualtion apply to everybody else, not them. Obama will lie to your face, say the opposite next day and the press doesn’t even confront him on it. I hope people see this bunch for what they are, and that they utterly have no shame. Normal people would feel quilty and stupid if they did something like this. But an acceptable, even admired trait to Liberal Mind. They are AMORAL!

  17. Emory says:

I laughed so hard when I read the title–tells the whole story.
